BPC N52 E90 Turbo Track Car

Ok guys in this thread we will be sharing the continued development of our N52 race turbo kit.

The goal over the next 6 weeks is to finish the track prep for our E90. Once the car is track ready we will begin our durability testing at the 505hp level we are currently at. Dan will be driving with in car video. He has 6 years of experience at our home track VIR (Virginia International Raceway). Most of which has been with the BPC S62 swapped E30. We are all excited to see how our Turbo E90 holds under race conditions. We are hopeful it will make us proud and hold together for its intended use. Once we have completed a couple track events with good results we will be removing the hot side to send to get bid out to duplicate for resale. After we are able to come up with a price and time frame for production we will start a group buy for members. Please enjoy the journey with us and please keep your questions/comments professional and on topic.

Wen have a few albums with all of the pictures taken from the old thread, organized in one place for your viewing pleasure.

What are you planning on for the suspension? Or has this already been covered elsewhere?

Curious about what you are planning on using for brakes as well.

Car looks really fast in the videos.

The car will be getting MCS suspension, and Performance Friction brakes. Once they arrive we will be posting pictures of the install.

Fantastic! Really looking forward to the rest of the build.

Any plans for competitive racing or just some track and endurance testing for the moment?

More Aero and Cooling

We are now adding a rear mount radiator with its own separate water pump, along with an quite aggressive rear diffuser.

you need a fat spoiler to keep the downforce. like the koehnegszeeeggggg...

so.... how many ponies does a trunk mounted radiator require?

The rear mounted radiator is interesting.

How does the air flow? Thru the open windows->cabin->fans->radiator->out rear diffuser?
Pusher fans on top of the radiator?

The pusher fans on top will supply the majority of the air flow to the rear mount radiator and the hot air will exit through the diffuser.

Love all this aero!

Hard piping just easier and more supportive than soft ducting for the rear rad?

Great build.

I can tell you how to run it separately without ECU being involved.
The water pump has 4 pins. The pin 3 is not used because is for test only. Pins 1 and 4 are for power supply and pin 2 is for PWM.
Here is the pin out:
Pin 1 is battery voltage
Pin 2 is PWM signal
Pin 3 is a test/BSD signal
Pin 4 is Ground
Supplying +12v to Pin 1 and pin 2 will make the pump run full speed after about 5sec delay (wake up time)

Pardon my ignorance... I thought the whole idea of a rear diffuser was to create a low pressure area for better aerodynamics. Wouldn't it be better to take air from the diffuser area and push it up through the top?
