H/K (678) upgrade recommendation
Hi Guys
I have a 2011 335i with H/K system. I was about to buy the Bavsound stage 1 but reading on this forum I noticed that there are some experienced members that dont love this path. My question is: it would be better to upgrade the subwoofers with SWS-8x or to go with Stage 1?? Please consider im not planning to replace the OEM amp in the short term or add an extra AMP. THANKS! pd. please excuse my english, its not my native language. |

You might consider the Focal 3 way set.
You might consider the Focal ibfw 3 way set.
It looks like they are designed to work with OEM power. I have no direct experience with them but most of all the others require more than factory power spec. The thing about BSW is they don't list there power specs. Also they do not have a true crossover for there base system setup. They started making some door speakers that do have a crossover but are more pricy. You really do need more power for stuff in the under seat area than the stock amp can provide. Your English is fine. There are three or 4 company makeing 3 way sets now but most all require more power to make them sing . Focal, MBquart , Jehnert and Gladen/Helix they are direct fit which is nice. http://www.focal.com/en/58-plug-play- Last edited by ctuna; 03-16-2015 at 02:37 PM.. |

Are the Jehnerts efficient enough for the stock amp?

Have you done this one before . I know the under seats are pretty efficient. |

IMO neither kit would work well with the stock logic 7 amp. Logic 7 door speakers are 2 ohms and almost any aftermarket is 4 ohms so they will be getting half the power from the logic 7 amp which is kind of underpowered to begin with. The underseats are 4 ohm so they will still get a decent amount of power.

you will lose some output if you go aftermarket, correct. you will likely replace/bypass the L7 amp in the future.
