Sws-8 install and doesn't sound good at lower volume

I installed two SWS-8 subs using the technic harness, a JL Audio cleansweep and a Rockford 5 channel amp. At any volume that you could actually talk to someone else in the car the subs sound blown but at higher volume they sound great.

What's going on? Is there something I did wrong or is this how they all act?

Figured out the carpet was pushing on the input terminals and creating a bad connection.

I removed the terminals and pushed the speaker wires through the terminal holes and soldered/heat shrunk the wires. Sounds good now.

If your only doing the subs it's super easy. 20 minutes per side. Make sure you raise your seat all the way and don't disconnect the wiring harness or off to the stealership.
