Code logic7 with aftermarket speakers and receiver
I've got an E90 pre-lci at the shop which has a ccc prof unit with stereo system.
They have installed an aftermarket receiver, speakers etc. Is it possible to code the logic7 equalizer in the ccc and will the equalizer be fully functional? How to code? I thought just enabling isn't enough. |

Post is confusing if you use and aftermarket head unit
Post is confusing if you use and aftermarket head unit
in every case here you loose the factory Nav/Idrive and the only aftermarket Head Unit that works with a L7 amp is the Dynavin N6 with a N6 L7 adapter added so far . You need to clairfy exactly what they are doing and be specific on model numbers and changes but I suspect the above to be true. Don't see anybody here putting in an aftermarket HU system in a Nav/idrive equipped car here so far . Also which country and town are you in at least. |

The car still has the original ccc prof unit. The car left the factory with a stereo system.
My customer has installed aftermarket speakers, tweeters and an amplifier in the trunk. (everything aftermarket) He wants the L7 equalizer menu enabled in the idrive. I don't know if it even works but I can give it a try. The car is build for the Germany market. |

If it doesn't have an L7 amp you will need a mobridge da-2
If it doesn't have an L7 amp you will need a mobridge da-2
That will allow the fiberoptics to be converted to analog. See the mobridge site. It you want to keep the factory Head Unit that it has to be programmed for L7 for the equalizer and when you do that it outputs the BMW optic signals not the Hi Fi analog signals. I think you would be better off with a aftermarket processor to control eq. Like maybe a Helix, mosconi or Lite Box(Arc) How did you set up the amps and speakers? Which BMW system did the car come with? Sound system that is. Read the following to become familiar with the three common bmw systems. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=641323 BMW stereo types http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=352586 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...2&d=1266451970 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...2&d=1260829447 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=343673 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138949 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1209780605 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=641323 http://bmwcoders.com/forum/3-er-8/bm...1-e92-e93-291/ http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1209780865 electical e90 pdf http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...,d.cGU&cad=rja http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...85464276,d.cGU http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...85464276,d.cGU http://www.musicarnw.com/page-2/ http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...4&d=1278871872 You will have to find someone to code the head unit to L7 if you go that route and they will probably need a programming setup that has an icom b test head (for fiberoptics) you said aftermarket receiver did you mean it? I think he/she meant amplifier saying receiver, thinking of a home cinema system.

"saying receiver, thinking of a home cinema system"
I mean amplifier. I only know that the amplifier hasn't got a input for most. The speakers and amplifier are aftermarket not BMW. I have an Icom B. |

Then if you want to convert you have to change the VO code
Then if you want to convert you have to change the VO code
to Top Hi Fi. There are instructions on how to do it in the coding section. With the Nav/idrive there are several idrive modules that the coding is applied to. But you will need the Mobridge DA-2 to tranlate the BMW Fiberoptic signal to analog pre outs. don't know the details this guy might. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=704363 The procedure is buried in the following thread but its for going to hi fi outputs http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ight=Top+Hi+Fi Also read the whole thread because its different for Pro Radio and idrive/nav. I would think there would be no more idrive after that. |

No more idrive, but the new headunit has navigation that most likely works 10x better . I've thought about swapping to an idrive dash until I thought about how much work it would be.
