Just had a awesome sound system installed at unexpected creations!!

Hi everyone I just had a awesome sound system installed by Don at unexpected creations in edison nj. I want to recommend them to anyone in the area looking to upgrade. I got the jehnert panel kit installed which comes with tweeters mid range and 8 midbass drivers 3 in each door panel and one under each front seat)a pioneer nex 4000 head unit and helix dsp amp combo pp50 i believe. The jehnerts sound amazing and the low profile of the panels is awesome. I'm still breaking in the speakers but even at 1/3 volume its louder than the original system. So if anyone is looking to have any work done, I highly recommend Don very knowledgeable and awesome to work with.

What did you start out with ?

What did you start out with ?
Can you give the specifics on the Head unit and which amp processor.
How are the door panel's loaded did the under seats get and upgrade?
Pretty much the only two shops mentioned here that have our
trust is Unexpected Creations and MusicarNW.

sorry about that, I had the pioneer avh-4000 nex installed. the panel kit came with 8 mid bass drivers 3 in each door panel replacing the pull out storage compartment with a enclosed speaker panel and one under each seat. It also included the mid range and tweeters. That kit ran 1800 I believe and for the sound quality it was definitely worth it. for the amp I went with the helix dsp amp combo the pp50 dsp i believe. I had the stock logic 7 sound system in there. Like i said i havent had the volume over 1/3 yet as the speakers are breaking in but its way louder and clearer than the l7 ever was. I didnt throw any error codes from replacing my head unit either most likely due to the fact im running the cobb tune which intercepts certain error codes.

Here's a picture of how the panel is loaded into the door. It has a mesh covering that goes over it and honestly you cant even tell its there until the volume goes up.

math - where is the crossover point between the underseats and the door woofers?

I though the door panels where 6.5 inchers

I thought the door panels where 6.5 inchers .
3 per side . That's a pretty good price for all that
quality equipment.
It looks like you would still put 8 incher's under the seats
though.

the panel kit uses 6.5 for the underseats aswell as the door panels. i know the flatline kit has the 8 inch underseat. im not really sure why they use a different size maybe something with the power output. i know that these are hooked up in sets of 2.

They are the same channel. 4 midbass' per side. 47 - 330 kHz @12dB Butterworth

They are 6.5's -- 3 in the door, 1 6.5" under seat, not an 8"

the reason for the 6.5" instead of the 8" is purely for midbass, and not sub frequencies, like the XE2000 woofer.

Yeah but an 8 inch under seat looks like it would balance

Yeah but an 8 inch under seat looks like it would balance
out speaker sizes better especially if you don't have a dedicated
large sub woofer.
Just a thought I am sure it sounds awesome.
Do you bridge or run more than one channel for the doors.
(with the helix dsp/amp)

yeah, well, it's sold as a 3-way passive set, not 4-way. that's just the way it is.

with the PP82, we put 2 pairs of midbass' per channel.

Just some clarity here ..

Amplifier was a Helix Match PP82 (we still use a ton of these!).

Jehnert panels (loaded) were quite substantially less than mentioned above. In his defense though we have been chatting for quite some time now about numerous different options, so a bit of confusion may have come into play.

4 6.5s per side - 3 in the door, one under the seat. All 4Ohm and used as a passive system they have a final load of 4Ohm. 3 drivers and then a separate one wouldn't be as friendly for wiring. They're currently HP'ed- 47@18 and have Zero problems 'getting down'.

I think i was thinking of price with installation, my bad the panel kit cost 1275 and it rocks! Im really glad i went with the panels instead of just the flat line. it just has such a nice (loud) sound. I will definitely be coming back for more work in the future

Do the 4" mids then pick up at 330 and up to the tweeters or do they go down to ~150 or so like they may be capable of?

This really looks sweet. Do they make a panel with only (2) 6.5" woofers?

Nice installation.
Am I right in thinking that these are amped by helix dsp amp?
In that case, if you are getting the final impedance 4ohm then are those getting 50W to a pair?

Yes, they currently pickup at 330.

For the e90/91 dual or quad is available but the panels still look physically the same:http://www.jehnert.de/en/produkt-kat...an-touring-m3/

e92/93 only quad: http://www.jehnert.de/en/produkt-kat...ible-coupe-m3/

Yes it is powered by the PP82. No, 1 channel per pair of 6.5s paralleled- 2Ohm per pair and 'rms' would be 70. So 140, per side for the 6.5s.
