If you haven't done so already, check your coils and plugs, otherwise you'll get limp mode on WOT on older cars once you bump the power even moderately

is soda blast really having same effect as to walnut blast?
I have checked and the only reasonable pricing will be soda blast ($550) here in Perth.

Plugs need doing, what plugs do you suggest?? haven't really looked into it, although they are due for a service within 5000k's.
Coils i can leave until i know they're broken, i am a firm believer if they're not broken don't replace till they are. As i work away getting my car home limp isnt a problem and i dont use my car for anything other then going to the airport and my recreational driving so yeah not to fussed ill just fix when the problem occurs.

Going to replace plugs, coils ill wait until i know they've shit themselves. Vacuum lines is also something ill wait until bust. I got roadside assistance i pay for so may aswell make use of it.

That and i don't drive my car to often only home 1 week a month, my last e60 i done 18000 k's in 3 years... never had one problem where i needed to replace things ahead of schedule... past cars i have maintained in 'thought' of things going pear shaped and they still have... see it as a waste of money if its not broken don't fix it.

Yes it is, i was gentle with it first day i had it, didn't latch completely! realized it needs to be dropped not lowered and pushed lightly lol

PS: walnut blasting defz on the agenda, would be good to know who the f does it in brisbane but, called both BMW's no go... thinking ill just manually clean them myself... might need some beers for that day haha

Welcome to the forum mate and wondrful world of the n54! I think the others have pretty much highlighted the key items you should look at before jumping into the stage 2+ map

Yeah I do all the work on the car myself as well, its still a pain in the ass when things go wrong.

Yeah might seem like a waste of money but when the car is chucking codes all the time and not letting you enjoy the car its worth it.

If you look at the vacuum lines I guarantee they're all crispy and brittle by now.

I was chasing a misfire and had the dumb idea of replacing only the stuff that was wrong, first plugs then coil on cylinder 6. Then get another misfire on a different coil. All over the course of a few months where I wasn't confident of the car performing well. Ended up throwing on a full set of coils, upgraded the vacuum lines to silicone, did a DIY walnut blast.

Plugs go for OEM ones unless you have upgraded turbos

Coils get them from supercheap auto, they even have a 20% off sale right now.

Vacuum lines I get from FCP euro for the silicone ones.

Sweet, not that expensive for coils, my old e36 coils cost me like $800 from the states.

Defiantly will replace coils and spark plugs, ill inspect the vacuum lines, they can wait till next time i return home atleast, breaking the bank already haha.

Welcome to the forum GC... two tone interior is awesome, assume it was a custom option by the original buyer ??? You can check these things by putting in the last 7 digits of your VIN on some web site (someone post a link plz)

+1 to replacing sparks, coils and vac lines, as others have said should be the very first thing any new owner does if they intend to run a flash...

Great community here on the forum, generally pretty helpful if you got Qs and plenty of free advice (quality varies tho lel) There is a classified sections where you can pick up preloved parts and a DIY section. Most of us are broke because of mod addiction but YOLO

Can someone spot what might give implications with installing the 7 inch cooler.

To be honest, sort of dissapointed as my order is already sent, either a, need to get it in, which will be a very tight fit from measurements, b, change ACC mount which effects the modules functionality or c, remove it, d try pass the cooler onto a mate and run a 5 inch.

c seems good as i don't use cruise control and to be honest the look of it in the front bar looks like shit, that and its taking up airflow given a doesnt work, although a requires cutting of the shroud, and if i went with option d then ive cut my shroud for nothing haha.

nothing just goes to plan as expected guess thats the fun in it but
