No heat drivers side vents

Anyone got any ideas or shed some light.

2006 e90 330d pre lci

Basically passenger side vents get to temperature as normal red hot.
Drivers side is just warm thats it. Screen, face and feet exactly the same.

Also the power seems to be a bit more powerful on the passenger side.

Anyway help appreciated

Are you saying you still get the full force of air to the vents and the temperature is low?

Is the driver's side temperature control not working?

Most likely the heater blend actuator failing/sticking for the driver's side.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes I get full force with the vents on full. Sometimes the passenger side feels like its a little stronger but not all the time.

I do get some gear on the drivers side but its mainly just warm where as the passenger side is scorching hot as it should be

I noticed tonite with the weather a little milder it got another warmer on the drivers side.

I posted it there by accident wasnt sure which forum was the best place.

Is there a way to check the actuator flaps as you mentioned, I've also read about the heater core.

Heater core would effect both sides equally. You can test/check them with INPA. Not sure if things like ProTool or Carly can do it

Thanks for the info. I will see if I can find someone with inpa then.

I've just read so many different things and people seem to have had the same symptoms and like you said the blend door has fixed the problem, or the heater core was the culprit.

Will take your advise and try and get them checked.

Thanks again

Had something a little similar on a 2008 Audi, it was a motorised heater flap that was faulty and needed changing out.

If you intend keeping the car for any length of time get a copy of INPA yourself you'll be glad you did. It is an incredibly powerful diagnostic tool specific to BMW and for the cost of a connecting lead and an old laptop.

Search on this forum there are loads of places to get it from.

Perfect. Any idea what cable is required. I do have the K+ DCAN cable from bimmergeeks used to flash my gearbox with xhp.

I posted in another forum and someone else suggested the flaps. How much is inpa.

Thanks again

Your cable will work. INPA is free, you'll just have to Google, or search this forum, to find it. It takes some work to get it downloaded and setup, but well worth the effort to do so and research on how to use it. It's OE software that the dealers use, so not intended for the average consumer with smooth and flashy GUIs.
