[Scam Alert] Username: bacthesnake

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
Was not sure where to post this, but just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Username bacthesnake has a few threads made for a part out of an E93

Quick google search of his number did not come up with many results, but I believe his full name is Brian Cheek. Email: bac3174@gmail.com

http://www.e90post.com/forums/search...rchid=44574478

Prices were cheap (really cheap), new member with no trade ratings, lo and behold, he turned out to be a scammer after exchanging a few messages with him from multiple numbers.

Was trying to buy a dashboard, only accepted PayPal as a gift payment, even though I initially sent the paypal amount covering fees. Immediately refunded me and gave me some bs excuse saying he can only accept gifts, blah blah blah, etc. HUGE red flag and normally I would back off at this point but wanted to gamble and see Paid with my amex so I'll just issue a chargeback.

Made the most farfetched excuse after being unresponsive for 2 days. Here's the conversation from the initial number I contacted him with:

Decided to go along with it and ask for pictures of the packaged boxes just for fun to see if he would actually do it

Initially he went as far as buying boxes from HD, showed the receipt and proceeded to take pictures of a half-ass packaging job of a tall box.

Well played sir.

Anyway to confirmed that he was a scam, had a buddy of mine text him from a different number:

Yes it was too good to be true, luckily for me I'm backed by amex.

For others out theres, just beware.

Damn that blows!

I am always worried about scams. Luckily everyone of my transactions have been good so far. *knock on wood*

Hey man, I live literally 5 minutes from Santa Fe, Tx. If there's anything I can help you with, PM me. I don't know how much help I can be, but just throwing this out there.

I should have positive iTrader, but the seller hasn't posted it yet even though I have, but I can show you my other screenname on a local forum with plenty of positive feedback and a stellar reputation. I've been shafted before, so if I can contribute to the community in any LEGAL way, lol, please don't hesitate to ask.

This is the address he gave me is it real?

My address is 4009 Avenue and one half Santa Fe Texas 77510

He's really good too I'm sure he has this car cause I asked for very specific parts and he sent the pictures of every single part together in one package. Anyone would of believed it.

And he actually still has the FS post up with people asking him questions about parts right after posts with scam alert, guess nobody reads anymore

But his FB page is gone...

That is most like N 1/2, and yes, that's a real address. I live 10 minutes from there exactly.

Biggest red flag I know of; if the buyer is willing to send as a services/goods payment, and cover the 3% fee, but the seller still rejects it why would you continue with payment? I can't think of anything someone could give as a reason that would make me say "oh yeah, that sounds legit."

Still can't believe this dude is an animal torturer and meth pusher...from looking online, seems like the chief of police in his crappy little town was friends with him and he apparently got away with shooting a few people as the same cop (before being the chief) was the responding officer and ruled it self defense. Multiple times.

So on the PayPal gift thing. That can be a legitimate request. I've had two people scam me by paying and getting refunded. It's ridiculous. They sent me an empty package back with a delivery confirmation and kept what I sold them. So it goes both ways.
