Had the odd fuel trims earlier this year. They went away for a bit now theyre back. Got the same 2c31 and 29e0 error with catless downpipes so i put the oem cats back on.
The fuel trims look to be closer together. Thought it was the post-cat o2 sensors with since bank 1 ltft was really wack before. How do these logs look for cruising around. Trying to pinpoint wether it is injectors or sensors still.

Going to flash map 0 and map 1 take a few more logs to see if maybe my car just doesnt like the stage 2+ and catless downpipes and that i need a real tune.

stock 3rd gear pull

Hey guys I have a slight misfire on cold starts where I can hear the engine skip through the exhaust note. There is no code thrown and car pulls hard otherwise no issues. Car is completely stock running 93 gas. Can someone take a look at my log and see if everything is fine? There are timing corrections on cylinder 1, 4, and 5 not sure why. New plugs and coils and running on index 7 injectors

hey my bad I think it's cuz the log was private. The links below should work now. I have another 3rd gear pull with even more timing correction on cylinder 4. let me know if anything seems off.

Alright, for the hell of it I'm gonna throw some plugs in, the ones I used last time we're the recommended 1 step colder NGKs but idk.. felt funny. Now bumping the tune I really feel it.
New to N54s and BMW. Spent the last 10 years playing in the supra game.
I'm older now, I enjoy the comfortable quiet ride until I get on it! Ahaha

Stage 2+ DP, inlets and outlets

Trying to track down a potential boost leak and or identify what may be causing softer/less responsive boost.. rear turbo is new, front one rattles pretty much all the time. 65k miles. Looking for signs that the front turbo is dragging down performance.. i really cant stand the rattle...

intercooler passenger connection not flush, and smoke test showed the stock diverter valves/or connections are leaking a bit(per mechanic's inspection.)

Thoughts? THanks!

Couple of questions is my lpfp low?
is it normal to have that many corrections?
and is my turbo healthy i see the boost target but not sure if i should compare it to mean boost or boost psi what should WGDC look like

last week
replaced precat o2's
replaced both solenoids and most vacuum lines
stock turbo recently installed (rebuilt turbo checking on this)

Fuel Trims

I don't know much about fuel trim STFT 1% and 2% but I know that should be pretty close. Mine at times has a big difference between the two.

Any ideas?

this is mhd v7 stage 2+ on 93..

wth is going on.. these timing corrections look brutal.. but not sure is typical or not.. this was from 3-6 WOT whole way.. let off at 6th ran out of room
Also weird only showing me 80% throttle? Also why am i not achieving target boost? i Have zero leaks. Every single hose changed. Could waste gates be closing crooked?

Fresh shell 93 too, hours after they filled the tanks.

Shitty situation, did you change the plugs? Ngk 95770? Plugs and coils can help much, buy Eldor coils from ebay. 80% throttle is normal. Accel pedal position is 100%

Dont know about the boost usually see these gaps between boost and target.
Mine is on spot but i have relatively new turbos, sloppy wg can cause it

At idle I get a strong smell of fuel vapors whenever i open drivers door. Mechanic checked out the car a couple weeks ago, and he said no leaks nothing. Checked MHD for codes, no codes but 2 inactive codes for both 02 sensors. 135i 114,000 miles. Downpipes, afe magnum intake, custom tune, first set of cats removed (with straight pipe), eisenmann exhaust, tial bov. Stock turbos still on the car. New injectors, plugs, coils, hpfp and lpfp sensor replaced late last year. This has been going for quite sometime, mechanic checked for boost leks and still nothing. He checked also for fuel leak, nothing. this is crazy.

Sounds like it's running too rich? Maybe replace the pre-cat O2 sensors?

This is a great thread, but it will never answer a majority of the questions asked, and could greatly benefit from information providing a better baseline understanding - not talking about what each widget of data means and how it correlates with hardware or software inadequacies — but starting with something simpler - a visual benchmark of what logs “should” look like.

What I would love to see is MHD provided graphs(in datazapme form) showing ideal conditions - OR an update to the their own graphing software that can overlay/highlight abnormalities in hopes to alert users as to how their “performance testing” reacts/deviates from what MHD feels is optimal for health/performance.



Also. For the data viz nerds out there - how cool would be to have IBM Watson interpret logs and identify correlations, causes and cures, and suggestions for improvement.

^^ive actually uploaded a csv log to a Watson BI software before with a free trial and had Watson spit out answers based on the data. Unfortunately I’m not a turbo wiz nor was I able to format any rules to help Watson interpret things better.
