Question Tpms switch to FTM

2009 bmw 328i. I got coded 6 months. I had my tires rotated and now my low pressure like is on. All the pressures are good. I tried to reset using the dash. That did not work. What am I missing?

if you are indeed using FTM, then you reset it and go drive. It can only be reset engine on and in park, then does the actual reset after it measures wheel speeds.

My car is stick. I reset in on the dash and drove and it's still red. Is it different from a manual car? I'm 100 perfect sure I got it coded. I had to pull fuses and it was off since January. Any reason why a rotation, oil change, and state inspection would trigger the light on?

I can't imagine it's different manual/auto.
It's just measuring wheel RPMs using the wheel speed sensors and comparing them to one another.

I pulled the RDC module entirely when I deleted mine.

I use a snap-on scanner and there are no and codes. No codes at all. I tries to go into the time modules and it can't read it. Must be because it got codes.

If you are coded for FTM, the module should not be there to be read.

I’m still having this issue. Every time I get my tires rotated. I get the low tire light on. Than the guy to has to reprogram it. I feel like he is annoyed with me. He had me pull fuses when he remote tuned it. Can someone confirm that this is right? He had me remove fuse 27 and that’s all

Did you remove the module or disconnect it when it was coded for ftm?

I just pulled the fuse. Should I remove it from the car?

F27 also supplies the CCC/CIC controller so if you have iDrive, pulling F27 is not a great solution.

In any case, just unplug the RDC module. The location of the module depends on the build date of your vehicle but the odds are it is behind a panel in your trunk. Otherwise, it's under the plastic shield under the battery box.

I swap wheels and tires winter/summer and it doesn't even trigger the tire light.

none of my wheels have TPMS sensors in them.
FTM won't trip on a tire rotation.
Pull the RDC module.

Sure, why not.

Sounds like it won't make a difference either way because you don't have iDrive, but I'd still put it back.

Just un plug the module. You don’t have to fully remove it.

Unplugged the module, light still in. Drove 30 home. At this point can anyone recommend a person remote code my car to look at the setting?

give my suggestion a try, might sound stupid but I looked hella embarrassed when the tech cleared it in seconds. just hold the reset button in for a while and it should say initiating, that never came up for me

Since I unplugged the module, I do not have the tpms reset option. It’s just has the red light on saying I have a flat tire

At this point I suspect the coding - do you know exactly what was done? If you have BMW standard tools (NCSExpert, INPA etc) and a DCAN cable I could walk you through re-coding or at least check to see what was done.

Did you put the fuse back in?
On FTM, you should scroll to the tire reset screen on the cluster and press the BC button twice to reset it.

I did put the fuse back in and it doesn’t have the tpms reset. I’ve own the car 10 years and had it coded last year. Maybe I’ll pull the fuse and see if that does anything.

I do have all that. Last few times the guy dialed in and did a remote tune. I have no idea on what I’m looking at. He also coded to tell you when to shift for the best mpg and that doesn’t work either. Not a big deal but the big red flat time sign is annoying
