What're you looking for? Step by step instructions? If you already know how to install...I'm assuming your wondering about hooking to the back of the OEM receiver? I don't know, personally. I do know that if there's no preamp outputs, you can buy an adapter and splice.

As far as the chrome grills...check this out.

Items 1 and 2...only $30.80 a piece. You can also purchase from your dealer. Here's the info from Pacific BMW:

PN: 51-13-7-120-009
Price: $23.06

PN: 51-13-7-120-010
Price: $23.06

the only thing that i forsee to be a problem is the remote line... gotta find a wire somewhere that goes hot when the car turns on. i'm absolutely certain there is one somewhere... but which one's the best to tap into? I don't know.

Our batteries are in the trunk, so those lines are easy... and i'm pretty sure there's no extra out's from teh stock head unit, so it's going to have to be one of those radio-shack line converters --or an amp with speaker level inputs.

It should be pretty easy --I am planning on installing something next month... I'll probably post a DIY when it's done.

I plan on doing this tomorrow or Wednesday.

Our cars have the amps in the trunk underneath the piece of plastic on the side opposite the Battery.

I do believe that amp has a remote wire. You can also get PreOuts from there as well. I will see what the preouts are like when i get around to doing it.

The Ignition wire can also be used as a remote wire.

Hi guys, just got my car yesterday and am getting a 12" sub and amp installed on Monday. So ill let you know how that goes... One thing if somebody could help me out with the actual pulling out the head unit as i cant find any instructions and im sure that the installers have never done an e90 before so im the test run so i dont want it to turn ugly.

You're going to try to tap line from teh stock HU? or are you installing an aftermarket HU? If what Guess says is true, you can just tap from before the amp --everything is already in the trunk, so no need to run any wires in any difficult places. I took a look last night when I saw Guess's post --I can't really tell what's what just by looking at it, so I guess I'll take it apart this weekend and get a closer look.

I will be using the original Head Unit in order to keep all the features..such as ipod, phone etc. I have the standard HU i will check for the amp opposite the battery as you mentioned. However with the poor quality system i have are you sure I have an amp there.

Even if you don't have an amp on the left side, dig deep into the body panel and you will find the wiring harness that is unused and tightly wrapped. However, I don't know which wires are which...maybe someone else can help?
