BMW E90 Dash Cam Hardwire

After a good while of planning and testing and wiring stuff I'm finally done with the dash cam hardwire on my 2008 328xi. Let me know what you guys think.

I'm getting two codes after the dash cam hardwire:
2DED Power management, closed-circuit current violation
2E8D Intelligent battery sensor, signal transmission
Neither is causing a warning light on the dash. The 2DED error seems normal since I'm drawing additional current but should I be getting 2E8D for the IBS?

Proper installation should not generate fault codes. What did you wire to? It should be wired to CAS.

Are there any diagrams or DIY's that describe the hardwire method? Also, what's the disadvantage of running it to the 12V socket under the climate unit (other than looks).

Great, thank you. So what do we think the cause of the fault codes are? I would be interested to do this if I could guarantee no battery drain and no codes.

I believe the 2DED code at least is caused by the car detecting more current draw than it would expect. My friend has an Owl dash cam plugged into the OBD and it'll actually show a code on the iDrive as well. I'm not entirely sure if the 2E8D code is caused by the dash cam or not.

Exactly. Which is why your should wire it properly to the CAS...

If you use a parking mode to record whilst the cars engine is off then you should install a super capacitor unless your camera has one inside (like the bmw advanced eye).

Are the connectors in the BMW Advanced Eye kit anything special or are they essentially just quick splice connectors?
It looks like we're essentially tapping into the X13376 plug to the CAS.
PIN 34 A2 Red ACC (Coming from fuse F36 from 09/2007 - 04/2010 or F4 for <09/2007)
PIN 14 A3 Yellow Always On (Coming from supply out of FRU X14261 Pin12)
PIN 12 A4 Blk Ground
My guess would be the key to getting no codes is to get always on power from the FRU power supply for the CAS, as the car expects to have to power this while its off.

The super capacitor only serves to hold the dash cam on long enough for a safe shutdown and is more durable than a LiIon battery used in cheapo cameras so I'm not sure how that helps with parking mode. A LiFePO4 battery pack like the BlackVue power magic should prevent any and all drain to the car battery when the vehicle is off which would probably also eliminate any codes.

I am simply using a 24hr timer to prevent the battery from being discharged too much but might add in the battery in the future.
