If your phonebook is in the car, one advantage is that the name will pop up on the display when you get an incoming call. Otherwise, it displays as ****** and you either have to look at your phone to decide or just answer.

Obviously, with the phonebook on the car you're able to dial names with the buttons on the steering wheel.
