Aftermarket engine and tqans mount options?
Hey everyone, I am looking to see what people are using for aftermarket engine and trans mount options to make sure I don't make another mistake. I ordered condor engine and trans mounts for the car, same as I run in my e30, but I hadn't realized that the M3 mounts are different. I have had each generation of 3 series aside from the latest and the mounts have always been the same, so I just made a mistake.
So that I don't go and waste more money, what is worth upgrading to? The only things I can seem to find are the turner motorsport mounts and revshift mounts. I'm sure both are fine products, but there's not way in hell I'm paying $400+ for engine mounts... 034 Motorsport mounts look like an option at $200, but they do seem to be pretty OEM like and don't have a matching trans mount set. It's always best to match the engine and trans mount material, and would want to try and keep that consistent. |

Personally, I would not use the 034's. The poly mounts will transmit some NVH. ECS has quite a few options for mounts that are reasonably priced.

It depends what your goals are and if you are tuned.
If you are tuned you should upgrade your mounts. If you stop to think about it, MHD 2+ increases your HP from 300 to 420 hp & torque from 300 to 479#. Will the stock engine & trans mounts do what they are designed to do with these significant increases? Idk what the stock mounts are rated at to be honest. I have the Turner 60a Polymounts & Rogue Engineering trans mounts. There is some NVH, at idol, in the winter months. When it's above 55 degrees, the NVH is minimal. When I first installed them, the NVH was alarming for about 250 miles. Once I got about 1500 to 2000 miles in, the NVH was minimal. You won't feel it when the AC is on. With that said, you can raise the RPM's at idol up 200 rpms via coding, for those of us that don't live in a hot climate 24/7/365. |

I had the track density trans and motor mounts in my Audi I loved them the vibration could be a little harsh but it didn't bother me. They also look 100% oem for the Audi but definitely does not feel it. No engine slop at all and ran them for about 15k

I and MANY other have had the 034 motor mounts, DO NOT BUY THEM. They are crap and will fall apart in no time.
I run the 60A Turner mounts, they are great besides adding some NVH, which most can be taken away by raising the idle to 800 but there is still some there. I'd probably try OEM mounts and the VTT reinforcement inserts if I didn't have Turners, seems like a good option. |

AKG Motorsports or Revshift are great. I personally decided to go with AKG 75D motor and trans mounts because they are great for track and street use without actually going fully solid mounts.

It's nice to hear some feedback from people that have actually used the products. I don't mind a little extra NVH, and never really have. The car is FBO and I will be installed MHD 2+ after I replace the turbos. I can currently feel shift in the driveline when accelerating hard, which is why I am looking into new mounts currently.
I like the look of the turner mounts, but $400 is EXCESSIVE... I did UHMV motor, trans, control arm, diff, and subframe bushings all on my e30 track car for about that price...Are there not any options that aren't stupid expensive? |

The turner Motor mounts are probably your least expensive, High Quality engine mounts out there. Expect to pay $400.00 on an e90. You could get 335is mounts for $600-700 🙈lol The Rogue Engineering trans mounts are the gold standard for an e90. They are only $54.00... https://www.bimmerworld.com/Drivelin...SABEgKnA_D_BwE |

This topic was researched quite a bit by several forum members a couple of summers ago. That's when I bought my Turner 60a motor mounts. There really isn't a ton of choices out there to be honest. I don't think OEM mounts are a good choice for those who have a tune. I also don't think even if you don't have a tune it's a good choice either. If you find something let us know. |

When you consider a set of just motor mounts is close enough to be half the cost of a new turbo set it just seems pretty crazy. |

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...mw-22116793240 And it's only the passenger side mount that is upgraded, the driver side is standard on the 35is models. I wonder if getting those VTT inserts with just 2 normal mounts would be better hmmm

That's crazy, super glad it went down in price for some reason now.
Would you still have gone the Turner option if these were priced the same back then? Seems as though most everyone who has the Turner 60a is really happy with them, so no worry about them melting anymore I guess..

I've had my Turner Poly mounts for 2 plus years. I wrapped the passenger side with a DEI gold tape. No melting here. I've probably put 30,000 miles on the set since install. The only thing I'd say is that you will get some NVH at idol when the temp drops below 40 degrees F. That's about it. |
