Best option for music, button controls
What's the best option for getting a proper audio setup?
I enjoy calling voice via Bluetooth but I hate audio via AUX and having to use my phone to switch songs. Is there a simple Bluetooth adapter that will allow my steering wheel buttons to work, or even the idrive hud? I'm not an electrician so I don't want to be ripping things apart and soldering wires etc. Is an aftermarket stereo the only way? |

almost everything worth doing requires some DIY.
In my opinion the following is the best and cheapest http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...4#post23244354 (read above thread from beginning) The above gives usb and sd card for music both streaming music and phone, all with steering wheel controls and no friggen aux involved. Requires no soldering but you will have to remove the radio to install the Most Bus connection and use and add circuit fuse holder. Also the cdc function needs to be enabled. Although some say not. this stuff also is dependent on what you start out with in terms of a head unit. There are units that just plug into the aux but you won't get steering wheel controls unless you have usb already in that case. WMA 3000 but they use the Aux for music and no phone. And usb was not and option in 06. Last edited by ctuna; 07-11-2019 at 11:42 AM.. |

Got a Tune2air. Plugs in your aux and USB in armrest and lets you use steering wheel controls and plays over Bluetooth. A bit pricy compared at 125$ but it works. https://www.amazon.ca/ViseeO-Tune2Ai...tronics&sr=1-2 |

You're still sending music through the iPhone lightning-AUX dongle attachment and AUX input... Is there anything else that's straight-up bluetooth without ripping apart the dash and console? |

What do you mean? It goes from your phone to the device by bluetooth. Then the device sends it over AUX and USB or something both AUX and USB gets plugged under the arm rest.
