Need Help - 1/4 Mile Logs & Slips
Can you log experts take a look at my 1/4 logs and let me know what you think? I changed the extension from .csv to .pdf to upload them.
First run: Missed 2nd and it bogged shifting from 3rd to 4th. Second run: missed second. Third run: granny shifted 2nd. Got ballsy and tried to launch at 3k rpm and spun entire 1st gear and then missed 2nd... Yeah, I know I need more practice driving... Going to change my transmission fluid and try Royal Purple to see if it helps with my 2nd gear. Here's a video of my 2nd run against a Stage 3 S4: (missed 2nd... ) Last edited by nafoo; 05-23-2012 at 03:00 PM.. |

No offense at all, but i think your car is fine, just need a driver mod / cleaner runs.
60' looks pretty good 1.8 for street tires. but you should be trapping a little higher. that 111 seems closest, but id expect 113+ with FBO. id expect the car to do a 12.6. you car should be well in the 12's. my car is auto, but i ran a 12.9 at 108 with a 2.0 60' (jb3 intake) . how was the weather/ track prep? |

Your intake air temperatures are extremely high from the start. I am willing to bet that is your issue as I faced the same problem last month waiting over an hour to stage at the dragstrip.
Next time, try to cruise around so you can get excess heat out of your engine bay. |

I'm taking my car for the first time to the drag strips next month, I have the same mods as you, but hopefully can get into the 12's. What rpm did you launch your car at in the 3rd run? Seems like you got a really good trap on that one. Were you on 93 octane and meth also? There's some youtube vids of a guy dragging his 6MT FBO 335i, I've been trying to look over what he's done to launch and shift his car. All his vids show him running like mid 12's, but I think he's running meth also & removed his seat.

I actually have Toyo Drag Radials on these runs. I was getting 2.1 - 2.4 60' with my 19" HREs, lol... Quote:

Still working on my launch, but the drag radials help a LOT. This was only my 3rd time at the strip and I only had 5 runs before these! I'm slowly getting better |

I have it hooked up but wasn't running it because I didn't get a chance to remove one of the nozzles (2 x 1.0 nozzles was too much and made my car slower in 1st and 2nd). |
