I'm really careful with the mpgs....I did notice that after I got a software update (old one now, something like 35.4), and found it disappointing.
Then, 3 mos. later they replaced my VANOS intake solenoid and the mpgs seemed to be restored. If there's no relationship between the VANOS and mpgs, then it must have been something else... |

I probably sound like a full tilt froot loop nut job but when looked at from 2007 to now with everything that has ahppened with software and problems it really does fall into place in a sensible yet twisted progression of events and is kind of freaky. Gotta go, toucan sam is here for breakfast.

Consider the one plus for a high threshold - When it comes to smogging my car, I want a high threshold. Any codes trigger a failure in California.
My 2009 went in this week on the recall and I got a 446 pump. Abouth 10,000 miles ago, I took it in for a few long cranks. They went away with the software upgrade the primes with the LPFP. Injectors were not reviewed. Pump was replaced without mention of codes. Did I read it right. A replacement HPFP is only 2 hours of service? |

Not uncommon at all. Sometimes they need a couple or three tries to get it right. Mine took two, and after that I still had to reset the BMW Assist -- so make sure you try it out after you get your car back. Very common for reprogram to cause it to need to be reinitialized, which you do by calling them.

Note to self-prior to the injectors being replaced it appeared that 20mpg/tank was unattainable after the re-programing & new hpfp was installed as once 350-385 miles/tank was routine. Lucky I could squeeze 300 miles. Will monitor the situation post injector recall service but I will be happy simply to stay out of the shop for awhile after three different runs at this.

Took mine in on Thursday, got it back Saturday, computer reset took two attempts.
One thing I noticed is that the car seems more responsive in standard drive. I'll keep an eye on fuel consumption... |

They ended up keeping my car over the weekend, SA didn't state why. Maybe because I also told them I also have an intermittent noise coming from the window at highway speeds.
Now I should actually get it back tomorrow

got mine back saturday. They replaced HPFP, LPFP sensor, 2 injectors and reprogrammed. Is it normal for the steering wheel button and 6 programmable buttons to be reset or did my tech forget to back them up?

just took my car in for a oil change and boooommm... they need to keep my car for a day to process two recalls: HPFP and Fuel Injectors. Hope this is for the better but from the looks of it, worst mpg.

Took my 2009 e92 XI in last week, 23k miles: new HPFP (#446), 3 new injectors, reprogram. No LP sensor needed. Seems to run smoother and rev faster. Had no prior problems except one SES light. Got no letter, but had other issues and asked if they could do the HPFP at the same time. Put about 200 miles on it since, no problems.
My buttons presets were all gone too. |

Just got my car back
Some observations: 1) Car is slightly louder 2) Exhaust burbles and pops more when you let off the gas 3) No loss in performance 4) Seems to rev a little more freely 5) My iDrive screen looks like this now:

Took my car in on Friday for a third engine light that came on in the last several months and i finally got it back today and here is what they did:
1. Changed both vanos solenoids valves. Valves were faulty...Part# 11-36-7-585-425 2. Changed oil and oil Filter. 3. Changed all spark plugs. 4. Brake flush service. 5. Service update to HDP Programming and reset DME adaption. 6. Changed HDP pump...Part# 13-51-7-616-446 All done under warranty and did not pay a dime. So far the car runs great and the same as before. I hope this solves the issues and everyone get their problems resolved due to the HDP failure. |

Almost a month
It has been almost a month since my recall was completed and cranking is still one turn of the engine. Fuel consumption seems to be stabilized and seems slightly better than before the recall.
Anyone out there getting any problems with their new HPFP after the recall? I want to know if the recall fixed it.
