Upgraded xdrive front control arms
Does anyone know of upgraded front control arms that have stiffer bushings in them to stiffen up the front suspension? I am in the process of building my suspension on my 335xi and i ordered all the upgraded rear arms, sub frame bushings and diff bushings. Along with upgraded coil overs and sway bars. All of this got me thinking about the front arms and what could be done to improve them. Is there a company out there that sells them? If not i am thinking about having some custom made.

I just purchased Meyle HD Sway bar endlinks because mine were rattling/popping. It seems like the part is more stout than stock and it was $50 total including shipping on amazon. Part #316 060 0025/HD and
#316 060 0026/HD I have all M3 rear parts including rear sway and subframe bushings and full spring shock upgrade. The front is generally not the problem with Xi, and Xdrive 3's. The biggest problem is the stock shock and spring setup and the soft sloppy rear bushings and flimsy rear sway. Once that is completed the front feel and stability improves greatly. (You can also get much better steering response with some summer Michelin Pilot Super Sports) Last edited by SaviorXi; 04-18-2014 at 09:53 PM.. |

The myele hd arms I'm pretty sure aren't xi fit
However there is a bushing that is firmer than oem available for the long control arm, this way you can mimic hd myele. The bushing is 90a poly The bushing is from Strongflex.eu it's an xi fit. I made a thread about it here 6 months ago, no one noticed it then lol |

https://www.powerflex.co.uk/ are VERY good bushings. I have had them on fully built stage III Audi's pushing 500HP with a chassis that is far less sophisticated than the BMW with very positive results. I routinely tracked the car. I am preparing to swap all my e91 bushings with these.
My S4 ran Ohlins TTX 4 way adjustable dampers with 1050 rate linear eibach springs in the rear and 950 rate linear springs in the front, and was absolutely stunning, especially on slicks. I would destroy OE bushings in less than 10k miles, the Powerflex were still perfect after 30k and a huge number of track days. |

The only off-the-shelf poly bushing is made by StrongFlex. You can easily modify a RWD bushing to fit AWD models though. I did this and it's been fine for the past year. |

bumping this
I have an 08 335xi, what is the BEST thing to do since apparently the M3 arms dont bolt up. Should i replace the bushings in the arms I have? Or should I modify them as per the previous post and has anyone actually confirmed success with this? I have a minor clunk noise when going over certain speed bumps while turning and it seems to be drivers side only mainly and i've replaced the strut mounts, struts, sway bar links and tie rod ends. i'm suspecting with the 150k miles i have on the car the control arms are the issue since, there isn't much left for me to replace regarding this particular issue. i'd also be interested even if it doesn't fix my issue if it's going to offer a much better ride and allow for better comfort, control and stability |
