Not to bring logic into this discussion, but even if you did agree to sign this contract, what makes you think that if you can't afford to pay the 500-600 a month for the lease that you'll have $1000 to pay a late fee? |

A responsible adult would not come in here begging complete strangers to cosign a car that several credit agencies and financial institutions have rejected after determining your credit worthiness is too much of a risk.
So these financial institutions must not know what they're doing with their extensive research/algorithms right? But some kid who's hot to obtain a car without the means to acquire it, we should take your word for it? Ask yourself this, most people here must have either obtained strong credit scores making sound financial decisions to afford them the opportunity to lease/finance 40k+ vehicles, or, had acquired enough currency to purchase the car outright. You think a $500 incentive means anything for them to deal with the possibility of a long term headache? Try out Kia, they may still have the $99 and a job. Never could understand why some kid think it's so critical to live beyond their means.

I'll cosign for you, as long as you help me claim some of this Nigerian Imperial Diamond/Oil Money that my distant cousin Ubunzi left me. It's only 10k but you get back 10 million in a weeks time. LMK

While I admit the OPs request is utterly ridiculous, I do understand his troubles. About a year ago, I had a 780+ credit score, made 90k a year, and had enough money to buy a brand new M3, Cash. They wouldn't offer me a loan for a used 2007 335i, due to insufficient credit history. This is because I paid off my school loans in 1/8th of the required time. So I had to get my mom to cosign.
The credit system in this country is absurd. Getting punished for doing the right thing.. |

Dude, not to sound like a jerk but I'd think you might be better asking someone closer to you as oppossed to someone here. Not because no one would trust you (because thats pretty obvious), but because YOU don't know who you can trust.
God forbid something happens down the line and you can't meet the payments, you'd be f'n up somebody else's credit. And with the way todays economy is, things can get very dicey for you. You never know who you're really getting involved with. Again I don't mean to be a jerk and bring up the points that everyone else has already brought up, just bringing up something else they havn't.

This is the /endthread mark. I think you clearly have NO idea how much liability and risk goes on someone's shoulders with a good credit score if you default/are late in any way, shape, or form. $500 is equivalent to the BMW fees to transfer a lease, it's so minute with the amount of risk involved. If any stranger (given the fact it seems no family members will help you) wanted to do this for a fee, the risk would have to wager the amount of damage if you were to default or be late on your payments. In my estimate, probably in the mid thousands, to even 10-15k depending on the individual, which could be held in escrow if you screw up. If you don't screw up, the funds get returned to you less the agreed upon "co-sign fee." If you screw up this guys credit, he may be unable to mortgage his future home, small business loan, credit limits, etc. Think about it. $1,000 bet w/ anyone on these forums that he will NOT get anyone to sign for him unless it's immediate family, IF it even gets there. Durgh. |

OP sorry bro but I dont think anyone here is going to basically sign their life away for $500. Ive helped people on this specific forum, not cosign-wise, and still got burned. Never again!
To the people making fun of the OP.. Half of your cars are under mommy and daddys name anyway getting paid by them. Half, not all. So dont flame this guy for trying. |

I need to chime in since risk assessment is what I do for a living. Not for car finance; but in mortgage, but its related still.
Something doesnt add up. Your first lease, even if cosigned, should be more then sufficient to get proper credit by yourself for an equivalent, and even a little higher value car through any kind of financing. Bank, Manufacturer, loan brokers, you name it. So if you still need a cosigner and your previous cosigner cant be accepted anymore; there's a reason for it. Either be the lack of income, repeated missed payment, too much debts and some even check criminal records; without you knowing. So something's not being told here. I dont accuse you of anything, but there's a solid reason for this decision. Your best bet would be to negociate a larger down payment to drop to cosigner. You could also get a personal loan at the same time to cover that down payment so both the bank and the dealer wont see the simultaneous credit applications since it takes some time to show on your report. But after that your score wont be pretty. But if you make all your payments in 3 or 4 years straight, you'll get a sky high score and never mention the word cosigner again. Thats what I would do. But be sure of your decision; because if you fail, you'll be marked for 7 years (dont know for the US, but Canada is 7 years). Good luck!

as for the thing you said about being early 20s so your credit is low
thats not an excuse considering im early 20s with a good credit score or at least good enough to get my vehicle on my own (mommy and daddy live in NY im in pa) so if your credit is shitty thats because of you. |
