E91 "cover pot" Gas Door Assembly Replacement

I have been getting water in my battery compartment for years now. I’ve replaced seals around tail lights and fixed a leaking sunroof drain but water still sneaking in the latest theory is it’s getting in around the fuel filler. I bought a new cover pot assembly basically the whole plastic piece around the fuel filler.
I can’t find any information on the procedure to replace this either online or in ISTA. Has anyone done this job?

If you want to find the leak. Get in the trunk and have someone hose it down. I've done this many times and its the only to pinpoint the leak.
