Im very interested in this modification, i have a 06 325i with 30k miles on it. Once i get the money together and my warranty expires i will be all over this. This is my only car and my first car so if i do go thru with this how will it do everyday driving? gas mileage? and how will i do 0-60?

Doubt they would even notice you have a 3 stage on there. It is a factory part after all. |

the 3 stage IM is a factory part, looks 100% stock, I wouldn't worry about it. Just do the conversion and get the tune, you'll be very happy. |

Been looking and ebay really sucks for this. Away from home for work and ended up finding a auto-dismantle place 20 miles from my hotel that had one for $150.
No DESA, but if I don't find one used for cheap, I know a dealership that has them for $250ish new. Now I gotta figure out how to take it back on the commercial airliner with me. |

So I might have located a used one. But just wondering on a 2009 328i with N52 engine, if I install it without the software flash, would I noticed any difference and if so around how much?
Would I need new mounting screws or would the original one work? |

New throttle body gasket and intake manifold gaskets and youll be fine.. I had mine without a tune for over a year. you can feel the difference more than you would like. What i mean is that there is a distinct drop in power then surge when each disa motor actuates. a tune smooths it out, but it isnt too bad without one

No tune is okay, I had it for 5 months. You will notice aggression and that middle dip. Also 6.5k will be the point when power dips ( but at this point its too fast for the street to notice )

Ordered both DISA's through a recycler for $350 and that deal fell through. Horrible experience with them ,they pretty much tried to keep my money without doing anything. These guys http://www.bmrparts.com/contact_us.htm . Tells me they have it, takes my money immediately. A week later, nothing. Call them up and they tell me they'll get it out. 4 days later, nothing. Call them up and they tell me the part is broken so they will refund me. 10 days later, no refund. Call them up and they have an excuse but will do it asap. Week later I finally get my refund. Not really happy with these guys. So ordered both DISAs again new through bmwmercedasparts.com for $246 a piece. Been 10 days and those guys still haven't shipped it. I understood going in that they are really slow on shipping, but the prices are much less than all others that I found and I am going away on a work trip again anyway. Hopefully by the time I get back all my parts will be waiting for me to install. Last edited by Casca; 12-10-2013 at 06:47 PM.. |

Where did you get the tune afterwards and how much was the tune? Looks like this mod increases up to 30hp but if you do a chip only it is around 15hp? Just trying to figure out $/hp what would be worth it. |

The biggest hp and tq jump is the manifold it self
Tunes refine and add some hp on top to fix dip, fix middle and add torque. The end result is your own 330i plus a few horsepower depending on tunes which differ by how smooth they are over all and the gains in the middle Tune options for Toronto Are. Euro charged and Aa. Both have a shop to do their tunes and are cheapest options because local Evolve is what I have it's from UK. Had to pay extra for the remote cable thing. I am satisfied its Smooth and aggressive Others exist too but would be remote

Got my order from bmwmercedasparts.com
Pretty much everything I need for the 3-stage, but wasn't think I'd be getting it so early. Just need a few hardware and misc. stuff to do my flywheel/clutch at the same time, maybe just get that at the local dealership. Ordered on the 28th of November, got it today. Their site never updated what was happening. Still says "processing". Also, they were supposed to ship it to my friends place cause I thought I wasn't going to be here, but they in fact shipped it to me. Can't really say I am disappointed. Will order from them again, but keep it simple. Pricing M3 subframe bushings and hardware for later and they beat all others by a pretty significant number. |

So I picked up the 530i intake manifold which has the external oil separator and one have one hole in the manifold for the vent hose.
Most of the pictures of the manifolds I see has 2 port for vent hose. Trying to figure this out before starting, on the 328i, is there 1 or 2 vent hose? If 2, then how to connect to the 530i manifold? Do I reuse the 530 single vent hose and disconnect the Y shape vent hose? |
