Where does the other end of this coolant hose go to?

During the course of this past week, I've been busy changing the valve cover gasket and the oil filter housing gasket. To remove one of the three bolts for the OFH, I had to remove one of the coolant hoses out of the way. The neck on the hose that is plastic was cracked. I tried tracing the other end of the hose but could not see where it was running. Has anyone replaced this before? How easy is it to get to the other end of the hose? What's the best way to access the area?

Hose #7 is the one in question

I think it goes to the Tstat.
Let me confirm tomorrow.

But you could call parts department at dealer with part number to confirm.

It shows in that diagram as connecting to the thermostat using an Item 6 (Worm Clamp).

I replaced the entire hose set on my N52. The design is similar to the N54. I can confirm the above is correct; hose 7 goes to the t-stat.

thanks guys. you were right. it was a pain working in such a small area to get the hose off. I had to remove the U hose that connects to the water pump first to even get to the vicinity. Hopefully I can get the new hose in without kinking it with all these twists and turns.
