Anyone used this guibo?

Replaced a driveshaft in a 2007 335i E93 yesterday and found the new driveshaft had a different guibo..
Have any of you guys tried it? It works perfectly fine in the car and I assume it's stronger than the rubber ones?

IIRC, they started out as being standard equipment on the 1M. I *think* that may have continued onto the 335is and other vehicles, but not really sure.

Yeah this one is considered an upgrade, but my original guibo on my car with 90k miles on it looks to be in great shape. I don't see why it wouldn't last at least 125k before needing a change. Usually the center support bearing rubber goes first though and then you might as well just do the guibo with it..

been using one for over a year. they first started using them on the 2011 335is with the n54s. stronger than the older version, it is an upgrade as some have said in here.

I think these were rolled out to all e9x in 2011 - I have 2011 n55 and it also uses this same guibo

Yes. You'll need the new bolts also because they're longer

If upgrading from rubber, can you reuse the old bolts or does it require different/longer bolts?

This is the only thread I've seen that's made mention of the metal guibo requiring longer bolts than the rubber version. Would you happen to have the part number? I've spent some time trying to locate them and cannot, and somebody else said that both guibos are the same thickness and use the same bolts. Thanks.

I called and checked on this and on realOEM and this is incorrect. All 335is use the same bolts PN 26117527475, I have an early (5/10) build and when I did my Quaife and Turner Aluminum / delrin RSFB's I did this as well. Transmission output shaft, drive shaft, and fasteners are the exact same. Only the Guibo changed.

Where were you told this?

See below, Guibo PN change at 10/10 only. No other changes, including BOM#3 hex bolt. Change was on all 335is from 10/10 on, screenshot below was for a 2012 build 335is for reference.

Note, there are two different questions here:

1. The hex bolts to use are the same PN for both Guibo's

2. The hex bolts cannot be reused, however. These are ZNS torque to yield fasteners that stretch to achieve ideal axial load. They must be replaced with new fasteners, just the same PN.

Been running this part for little under a year now, also used the same bolts so no they don't need to be changed they work just fine.
