I had a misfire code show up one time when I bought the car but I cleared it and never had it again (though the stuttering persisted which I then diagnosed to be ignition related).

Sorry been busy as for checking the coils if you erased the codes the only thing you can do is buy one and test them all one by one or wait for the code to come up again

Get it to throw a CEL, scan it with a cheap scanner to find out which cylinder. Switch coils with a good cylinder. See if the misfire follows the coil

I had a similar issue with my 330xi.. my issue was two slightly different size tires front and back. I bought the car like this. Switched out to new tires of same diameter and car was fine.

2007 BMW 328xi E90

Whenever I accelerate strongly, the car will accelerate and then pause for less than half a second, then continue. This happens about 2 or 3 times per gear before it shifts. Everytime the car hesitates it jerks, making it really annoying.

There are no codes showing up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I’d buy some CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner and clean your mass air flow sensor. I’ve been having related issues at 45k miles and zero codes were thrown, pending or otherwise which was very annoying. Before throwing lots of time and money at the problem I cleaned the MAF and essentially resolved all issues.
