One VERY lucky chap...

Some of you might remember my mate Craig from the ring in May; he was the guy with the Focus RS who also put a few posts to wind me up on this forum before we went!

Well, he sold the Focus a few weeks ago and bought a Mitsubishi Evo 9 FQ400 thingy...not the best purchase he's ever made IMHO!!

Well, last night the Mitsubishi was no more...and it nearly took my mate with it! It managed to find it's way off the road, through a hedge and then it rolled over 3 times!

Unbelievably Craig got out of it with a few bruises and a bit of whiplash - an amazing outcome considering what happened. Someone was looking over him last night and the only long-term consequences will be his bashed-up ego!!

Exactly as I kept telling him. TBH it was an incredibly fast car and went round corners very well but other than that there wasn't a lot to like. I don't even think he liked it that much - not to the level of his RS anyway.

No pics yet - he hasn't seen his car since he got home from hospital! I'm sure he'll take some once he sees it!

Allegedly, he might have gone round a bend too fast in the wet and spun it - I think the oversteer (on his 4wd) took him by surprise if that was the case. The road it was on wouldn't have given any room for error so it was a harsh/stupid place to lose it. I'm sure we've all been close sometimes though!

He hasn't mentioned it (yet) but I guess it's a possibility - I doubt he's even thought about that today!

Main thing is your mate is ok as the car can be replaced.

Did he let off going round the corner? I know a lot of new owners do that and they shouldnt due to way the AYC works.

I had an Evo VIII MR and the grip was amazing but you cant defy the laws of physics.

No, not local to us. He lives in Crewe, Cheshire. He does still travel to Loughborough everyday as he also works for me...but he's been off work for the last two days. Just can't get the staff!
