On the E60, if the Sports Automatic is equipped, DZM_DISP_RPM (00300303, mask 10) is set to 01 (00 otherwise). DZM_DAEMPFUNG (00300303, mask 20) is set to 00 (01 otherwise).
On the E9x, the address for DZM_DISP_RPM is 00300507, mask 04; it is set to 01 by default if you have DCT or a N54/N55 with an automatic (amongst other things). I can't find the equivalent of DZM_DAEMPFUNG. |

Start Tool32, press F3 and select KOMB87. Choose the job Codierdaten_lesen and use 0x3103 as argument. ??? Also, paste your custom nettodat here... |

Just got the xHP tune for my gearbox and wanted to try this as well since the needle is quite slow. This is what Tool32 returned:
Code:
apiJob("KOMB87","codierdaten_lesen","0x3103","") Satz : 0 OBJECT = komb87 SAETZE = 1 JOBNAME = codierdaten_lesen VARIANTE = KOMB87 JOBSTATUS = UBATTCURRENT = -1 UBATTHISTORY = -1 IGNITIONCURRENT = -1 IGNITIONHISTORY = -1 Satz : 1 JOB_STATUS = OKAY CODIERDATENBLOCK = 23 Bytes 0000 : 16 33 00 33 00 DE 07 9D 0D 5D 13 48 15 00 00 97 .3.3.. .].H...? 0010 : 06 8A 0B 7C 10 22 12 .?.|.". _TEL_ANTWORT = 30 Bytes 0000 : 9A F1 60 62 31 03 16 33 00 33 00 DE 07 9D 0D 5D ?`b1..3 .3...] 0010 : 13 48 15 00 00 97 06 8A 0B 7C 10 22 12 4B .H...?.? .|.".K Also, the code suggest minimum and maximum values of "33" which can't be right... |

As mentioned before on the XHP facebook page, it looks like the dampening for 135i cluster is different than 335i clusters. so I guess dampening limit/speed should be different for different clusters.

Hello guys,
So I have the following problem. I bought an Oil Temp cluster from an e93 for my E90 (for quite a lot of money for me). My mechanic reported that the cluster had water damage, so he wouldn't install it. I accepted and what we ended up doing is reprogramming my consumption gauge to an Oil Temp as per the detailed instructions. I'd like to swap the original dial with the oil temp dial, but the new one (oil temp) has rpm listed up to 8000. (While my original is up to 7500, so if I just swap them, it won't show the correct amount.) I am not much of a coding expert, and my mechanic said he has not done anything like this either, so I would like to ask for your help. Could someone please add a step-by-step explanation on recalibrating the rpm gauge? I'd be extremely thankful! // The car is an E90 N52B30, with manual6 transmission. Anyone managed to do this with the speedometer? The lag/damping on mine is annoying!
How do you work out "0x3103", and what the subsequent values actually mean? Is there a guide somewhere? Also is there a more user-friendly way to make the coding changes? Thanks to the OP for the initial solution anyhow. |

Bummed this doesn't work with perfekt toolbox, loaded it up and pulled the info off my cluster (2008 E93) and the damping is already set to 0 and is quite slow on the tach, so looks like there is a hardware difference of some sort.

Maybe try setting it to 3, and see what it's like? You can always set it back to 0.
Mine was set as expected, and although I'd say it's better, it's not a massive difference. Also perfekt toolbox is surely the most user-friendly piece of BMW-specific software I've ever seen! |
