The right combo

Hello, This is my first post, I will be getting a 335I shortly.
I actually work at a BMW dealer in Newport Beach, so I get a really killer deal.
The car 2010 335I coupe with 6MT, im really into modding my vehicles, and I want to know if you guys think this is a good setup, and what kind of RWHP and RWTQ I can squeeze out and not blow my motor or do damage it,

The parts:

Juice Box 3
ar design 3'' Hi-Flo Catless Downpipes
BMS Dual Cone Intake N54
maybe run the Milltek Sport cat back exhaust (not sure yet)

If i do the catless downpipes will I need the BMS Downpipe CEL Fix or does the juice box take care of it?

Thank you all for your time a patience.

Sounds good. You'll need the bms downpipe fix. You're also going to want to goa head and get the exhaust. Some people advocate the use of a dual cone intake (they're dirt cheap), and i'm one of them. You should hope for ~360-370ish whp 370-380wtq.

Are you a mechanic? You need to take a decision on whether to ride the knock sensor (JB3) or pull timing (PROceed). Arguments exist on both sides.

What would be the diffference between the twin air filter and the single?

What I don't understand is the juice box you install it, and from what i'm reading it has different settings. How long does it take to access different settings and is there there like a screen to know what program your in, and can you do it wile your driving. And does the JB3 come with all the tunes or is that like some extra charge.
thank you.

Im not a mechanic, but I would say that knock= detonation, and thats not good at all. so for me that would be running the car hard, I would pull timing,
I think The Ideal set up would be to have a meth injection kit on the car and when I wanted to do a hi boost run I would switch the tune program and hit the meth injection.
But does the tuner work like that.
Can that burger motor sports build a tune around my personal car because every car is different just a little bit?

I'd suggest throwing in an intake and intercooler if you want to make the most out of your mods.

You can run meth maps with both piggy back tunes with automatic switching and I believe they both are coming out with or have boost dependent meth controllers. You can scratch plenty over 400 to the wheels with a full stage 3 + meth, consistently.

Problem is that if you switch the maps from stock to say map 5 then doesn't it take time for the ecu to relearn?

i would get intercooler instead of the exhaust. some people here hitting 400+ with good condition and maybe mix with some race gas.

go n54tech.com if you have questions about jb3. terry is best.

Welcome!
First of all, great choice on mods!
I have a JB3 and A&R Catless downpipes, and love them both! (The PROcede is a very good candidate as well)
The BMS DCI should suffice, however I have no personal experience with it.
As for exhaust, it is all personal preferance.
Good luck and have fun!

Both are proven to ride the knock sensor, it is just a matter of degree.

OP: Sounds like a solid combo. With jb3 2.0 software you can custom tune but the supplied maps are very good. If you have any more questions feel free to post here or email me.

When the N54 shows knock its not an actual knock (thats reported through BT cable and ECU as "Superknock")
the knock sensor is calibrated to prevent knock from happening way before the actual knock . Since timings can be pulled in one cycle the event of Real knock / Superknock is almost impossible or at least there must be something seriously wrong in the engine for that to happen.

FMIC before you get too far ahead of yourself. The stock one can't even barely handle 8.5 psi much less the amount of boost you are planning to run with JB3 and catless DP's...

Check out the Macht Snell (spelling?) 3" catless DP's they are almost identical to the AR ones and you might can find them a bit cheaper Either way they all end up being 2.5" at the end where they bolt onto the exhaust.

Consider whether or not JB3 or PROcede fit your needs better as well, the price really isn't that much different when you start adding BT scanner, O2 sims, etc. (because PROcede includes those things in the software).

Good luck with it
