Im planing on putting a intake on my e90 325xi auto trans. I was wondering what brands are out there and is there any whp increase or torque? Thanks for your help.

for some reason intake threads can cause world war III to break out, and there are plenty of posts to search on.

if you want sound, people seem to like the cold air intakes like AFE , but folks also report loss of low-end power.

some people like the BMW euro airbox. no cool sound but some claim a feeling of power improvement. Good luck finding a dyno to confirm.

there is a new AFE closed airbox intake that people seem to be excited about.

I did the charcoal delete and KN replacement on my stock airbox. I MAYBE feeling a little more power but definitely not enough to swear by it. In theory it could help as you are going from two filters to one.

Hi, mine is the stock intake, modified per link below:

you cut the charcoal filter out of the airbox (make sure you read the part about thoroughly sanding and cleaning the airbox if you decide to do this.

this mod has low up-front cost: you perform the mod and buy a K&N replacement filter for about $40, but...

your stock airbox will be permanently modified...you can't go back unless you buy a new stock airbox with the charcoal filter.

you also have to periodically maintain the K&N filter (did this after 18k miles)
