335d BPC stage 1 long term reliability.

I am CA and interested in getting stage 1. With this much extra power, how will the stock exhaust system and the car in general hold up?

Last year did carbon cleaning, SCR tank replacement and EGR cooler replaced (spring broke)...

I know bpc is very popular here, can anyone having stage 1 share some data points? How long has it been and any concerns/issues?

I found Searcher had stage 1 at first and had some issues then went to stage 2.5... I guess that tells something. But more data points will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Mine was wonderful....If your car is in great condition...ie, vacuum lines, CBU cleaning done, etc etc...the car will run very well...You will be happy, especially if you can add meth to it...

I have JR tuning stage II with EGR delete and DPF/SCR intact and active. I have been running it for 18 months and driven about 30K miles and have not had any engine issues.

Of course your engine/componet life will decline somewhat depending on how much and often you use the extra power the tune provides.

However, for me solving the single biggest issue causing the cars to crap out, namely CBU, it was worth it to me.

I originally had an issue because I was doing very short drives. The engine never heated up enough to burn out the DPF. The DPF then got so full that the car wouldn't burn it off. I had to trick it by driving for a while and resetting the error code that the DPF was throwing every 5 seconds. Took about 2hrs to burn it off.

After that I had no issues, except for what I thought was regens too often (every 150-200 miles). That's why I went stage 3

The car drove great, still super quiet, and pulled like crazy. MPG went up slightly. Probably would've gone up more if I had replaced my thermostat around the same time.

I'm running stage 2 (75%) on my JBD.. I have all my stuff and have zero issues

being in cali don't you have emissions testing? JBD might be the way to go since you can remove when you need to
