Another catless smoke
Its seems a lot of people have been getting smoke after going catless so here is my issue...
Im getting clouds of white smoke upon decel and idling even after fully warmed. It sucks because everytime im stuck in traffic everyone looks at my car with a "wtf is wrong with his car look". It only smokes when I am catless. The smoke does kinda smell like oil but it can also just be catless exhaust fumes. Upon throwing my stock dp back on the smoking issue stops immedietly. I havent loss a drop of oil or coolant. Dealership say they cant find an issue because it doesnt smoke when the stock dp are on. Cant bring in my car modded because I know they will blame the aftermarket downpipes/exhaust. Anyone ever ran into this situation. If so, how did you get the dealer to replace the turbos/seals? Will welding the secondary cats onto my vanguard exhaust help stop the smoking issue? but then again its just masking the problem... |

If your turbo seals are bad then they are bad regardless of downpipes.
If your familiar with changing the DPs then inspect the turbos for bad seals/shaft play. If present then put oem dps on and tell dealer ur turbos are shot. They are going to have to do the same thing to inspect them. |

Turbo('s) are done. See if the dealer will inspect the turbos as the smoke is "random" and can't seem to re-create it with them.

do you have vargas turbos? Have you been in a car with either upgrade? seems like a strong statement with no backing. regardless 9/10 you are seeing the smoke when you go catless because the cats are no longer there to filter smoke, turbo seals are prob going out, doesnt mean they are done, plenty of people have been driving on smokey turbos at high psi, just have to deal with the spy hunter smoke screen that goes with it
