Mark, dark flat grey to get less suntan in the cockpit? Or for those times when you don't have a 18% grey card and are in a barrel roll.
No airshows for me this year, at least congress still gets their full pay and pensions.

Cool planes! I haven't been to an air show in a long time.

What position are you using on the IS switch on you 70-200, position one or two? If I remember correctly, position two is to be used when panning. It may be helpful.

Yep, position 2. Still, even with IS, shooting at 200mm and 1/125sec or 1/150sec for prop blur takes a smooth touch.

I think you've got it!

But, jets can be so much easier.

True. If there had been jets, I'd have been shooting with my 400 5.6.

If you think prop blur is hard on an airplane, try it on a helicopter! You need to be down to at least 1/160 or slower.

I don't often use my 24-105, but when I do, I'm impressed.

Stay focused, my friends.

Hehe, true. If you can master getting a good photo of a black cat on a white background, and also a black cat on a dark background, you can write your own exposure book!

Great deer shot Dave!

Panicos, I love the flock of birds in that shot. Adds a lot to an already nice sunset shot.

Went for a drive through Sonoma Valley wine country yesterday. It's getting close to harvest time. These are going to make a nice bottle of Cabernet someday.
