Hello all I'm new to the bmw scene and i was looking into lowering my e92. Ive noticed in bumpy roads it sounds as if my struts are shot but on smooth road they're fine. I was looking to replace them but not sure what options i have combined with lowering springs. I'm not looking to slam it but maybe lower tastefully on the stock wheels so maybe .5 inch to a inch at most. If you guys can post some pics of your setups it would be greatly appreciated also how can i tell if mine is a sport? I saw that matters in the strut selection. Thanks in advance

I don't know of any lowering kits that will drop the car only a 1/2 inch. Most start at an inch and go from there. If you can wait until November, the Bilstein B12 kit is a great set up. I would look into the Koni Performance Suspension Cup Kit. Another kit to would be the BMW Performance Suspension.

Even bad struts will feel fine on good roads unless they're completely blown The most mild lowering springs would be the Dinan springs, BMW performance springs, and Eibach pro kit. These can be paired with BMW performance shocks, Koni Yellows, Koni Orange, or Bilstein sport. You can run them with OE equivalent dampers too but it's not recommended as they'll be wearing out much quicker.

What sort of ride are you looking for? I have a sport spring set up and just ordered a set of swift spec r's. Apparently they are some of the stiffer springs you can get with a published 1"/.8" f/r drop. I am going to use Dinan camber plates up front to get back 5-8 mm of height and 10mm e30 rear spring pads to get back some height back there.
I am attempting to get the same height as stock sport with the much stiffer spring rate(am currently running bilsteins).

There are the lowering spring perches, and cutting the locating tabs on the front struts as mild lowering options.

Run your VIN through an online decoder to determine what options(sport/non sport suspension) your car came with.

what springs will be ideal for 2009 335i sedan with sport suspension with stock Bilstein 4s struts? I m not looking for too much drop, something in between comfort and better handling?

I'd recommend Eibach pro kit. They're pretty mild with about the same spring rates as stock and a slight drop. Bilstein B4's are capable of handling them without bouncing.
