Teach me about Procede tuning

Folks

Had my procede for a few weeks now and really loving it. Starting to play around with the settings now to optimize for my car but I just can't seem to understand what everything does and how it works. Have changed setting and getting good results but then I change something else and results go backwards. There are jus too many posts across a million forums to understand everything...

If anyone has solid tuning experience with the procede on a N54 that can sped some time teaching me please let me know.

Happy to compensate for your time. - I would rather learn it right than by trial and error on the car.

Please PM me or respond here - I'm sure there are others in the same situation as me - maybe we can organize it along with the dyno day we're planning in melb...

93 views and no reply...must only mean one thing. Searching for threads or even better going to check out the n54/55 tuning section on these forums is the smartest thing to do. Come on dude, us newbies got to stick out for each other to make sure we don't get branded as dumb ass newbiez by the elders of this Aus section. Wise up hombre.

Hehehe

That's the point - I've spent hours upon hour poring over all the threads but there's nothing where I can understand how the procede works end to end and how my car responds to it. I read one thing in one place and another thread contradicts.

That's why I'm happy to pay for someone's time that knows this stuff that can explain to me how it works for my set up with my car.

I hear you mate but old wise men were newbies once...

Besides if you get your significance from what people say to
you on a forum whom you've never met and more often than not will have an inconsequential impact on your life you have got bigger problems than being branded a noob...

Also, I've learned that the smartest guys are not the ones with the right answers, often they're the ones with the right questions...

End sermon/

The problem with tuning, or at least fine tuning is that it is quite a complex task. The proper way to tune a car is with the use of a chassis dynometer. That way, you can see actual power output whilst logging important parameters, to see the result of each tweak.

For a pretty good book about tuning, try http://www.amazon.com/Engine-Managem...pr_product_top

Don't expect to even do too much on the proceed when it comes to tuning, as even the authorised tuners and resellers barely touch any settings. This is because the proceed does have an auto learning / tuning feature that will always try to get the best out of your car based on it's own datalogging.

Without changing boost and fuelling, I hit 297.5 kw which is a really good number. User JB4135 extensively working on fuelling algorithms in the JB4 tune, he was able to extract significantly higher numbers than that.

It would be great if you do get to learn alot about the proceed, as we are always told the tune will auto-tune and never really get much more out of vishnu than that. I would love to eventually fine tune the car to get every last bit of power.

That's awesome mate!

And that's what I want to do - understand - I'm not after absolute power / speed etc. I could have paid less for a faster car.

I wanted to be able o get the best from what I have. Also, Autotune is switched off with the latest maps so it doesn't really help.

I've seen drastic differences in performance when playing around with the procede in terms of acceleration and drivability so I want I know how it works in order to be able to manipulate to to my needs.

I'm not interested in becoming a tuner as such - I just want to learn to tune my car with a procede - hope that makes sense.

I find that hard to believe, I often call Adrian at all sorts of times of the day he is always the most helpful guy, And when it comes to Procede there is no one that knows more than Adrian, maybe Shiv

Less helpful than freefivefive's installer not actually enabling or showing OP how to use his tune?

To be fair my comment cannot hold any weight as I have not personally dealt with him. It is just what I heard from a few guys I've spoken to (forum/forum but not active/non forum).

When you say you got 297kw was that at the wheels or flywheel? Also, what mods did you have or was it just the tune?
