Still need to be patient for 6 weeks or so...waiting is the hardest part!

Will you install the mods when you get back, or do you plan on having them installed prior to the drive home from QC?

The mods will go on the car once we get back. That way we will enjoy the car stock for the first little bit.

Hey all:

Thinking about getting either H&R or Eibach Pro Kit springs for my 330i.

Where would you get this installed in Hfx?

HARD on Kempt?, Halifax BMW? or others?

Thanks guys.

My buddy Kelvin (owner of Chapman Autobody, authorized BMW bodyshop) recommends Scotia Tires. More specifically the shop in Dartmouth considering you should get an allignment done after springs install. This where I will take my E46 330xi and my E91 328xiT for 18" wheels + springs + allignment on both (maybe they will give me a deal for the two cars).

That is a personal choice. If I had to choose between those I would go with the #162 replicas (easier maintenance and look good). I know you can get the #162 as replica and you can save quite a bit of $$$ by avoiding the dealer. I don't know if the other styles you mentionned are available as replicas.

Let us know the outcome and post some picture on your car with and without mods.

Cheers

Out of those three I also like the 162s the best.

I'm partial to the 162's, since they're on my ride (well, in the summer anyway), but I also like the 195's. to the 196's

This is neither here nor there, but I met a guy at a wake last night (for my friend's mother who passed earlier this week) who's a BMW Car Club of Canada member up in Toronto. He drives an e36 based M3. Anyway, we chatted about cars for a while, and he really knows his stuff, a lot more than me. Just a young guy too, early 20's.

He was really excited when I told him about my e90 330i, and came outside to take a look at it. Nice to chat with someone who appreciates cars. He was encouraging me to do the driving school, gave it tonnes of praise, and wants to come back in the summer with his M3 a do a driving tour of the province with some car buddies of his.

Cars can unite people. I am sorry for your friend's loss. He is lucky to have a good friend like you.

That's awesome, you must be stoked. I've only seen one other e91 on the roads here, and coincidentally, it belongs to my neighbour two doors down. It's a red 325xiT, but pretty plain otherwise. They also have an e36 coupe which isn't in bad shape, but dude drives it pretty hard. Makes me nervous the way he throws it around in our residential neighbourhood.

I'll have to have a look at your ride after you get all of your mods installed.

He hasn't posted since Feb 13th...not sure where he went. We heard from a couple of guys over the months (Nablu, vladdy, nothern), but no one regularly.

On another topic, you going to take your M3 out of your sig and replace it with your e91?

Flat tire

I got to experience a flat last week with a RFT for the first time. The alarm warning came on but the car drove no differently. A visual inspection revealed no difference in appearance and the "flat tire" felt no different to the touch.

Only when I checked the pressure was it evident there was zero pressure in the nail punctured tire. Scotia on Robie repaired it, I reset the sensor and that was it.

I must say despite the grumbling about ride quality and noise with RFT's this was a pleasant experience with a "flat"!

Hope all of you are well.

Glad to hear all was ok. I don't know what to expect from RFTs. I will most likely only run my winter setup with RFTs. I have a set of 18" summer tires non-RFT and CSL rep wheels waiting to go on the car once I get it back to HFX.

Good story Nablu. No offence, but hopefully I don't get to share a similar story! Question though, have you been driving on your stock run-flats all winter, or did you recently put them back on, or did you buy winter run flats, etc, etc?
