Quick Differential Oil Question!

Im thinking about getting the inspection kit from ECS. Problem is they include 1 quart of gear oil which they say is what the car needs. But from looking around on the forum I've seen people use 1-2 quarts. Question is will this be enough for my car or should i get another??

I did my tranny and dif at the same time so i dont remember exactly how much I put in each and I didn't use the full two quarts but I used more than 1 for both. Just buy them both its worth the hassle not to have to try to find additional later. I have a 335i so unless those are different amounts for a 328i I would say just get 2.

Here is a quote I found:
Quote:
Per the Bentley BMW 3 Series Service Manual, Page 333-1:

Rear differential capacity non-turbo: 1.0 ltr (1.05 qt)

Rear differential capacity turbo: 1.2 ltr (1.3 qt)

Per the Bentley BMW 3 Series Service Manual, Page 333-2:

Tightening Torque (all) Fill / Drain Plug: 44 ft-lb
Here are instructions:

So you would be fine as long as you dont spill the bottle.
If anything, just buy an extra bottle. Save it for next change in 40k miles
