latest Nav DVD version for Europe?

Hi guys,

I just picked up a new 320d Touring with iDrive yesterday.
It came with the 2006-2 map dvd, is that the latest version? The dealer claimed it was.

Just feel lucky you GOT a map.
My car came without and I had to pay € 279 for the DVD

Perhaps I should have used slightly different wording, obviously it was payed for. It was on the invoice. I don't have it handy right now, but that price sounds about right. But yes I agree, it is very expensive for just a map dvd, which is why I wanted to be sure they gave me the latest version...

In related news , I was able to add the speedcamera database (from flitspaal.nl) to the map dvd using these instructions:

http://www.bmwnavaddpoi.co.uk/

Not as nice as some aftermarket NAV systems, but it helps!

Damn, so I got my car a week to early...

I have a appointment with the dealer on Monday, and will ask about it (the center console has some scratches, and they are going to replace it).

I dropped the car off this morning to get the centre trim replaced for scratches.
I spoke to the sales rep about the 2007.1 DVD, and showed him the printout from the German eBay.

Basically, an utter waist of time. He and the guy from the service department plainly claimed that they
1) had never heard of that version
2) that it would only be for germany, and that they probably would not get it until March.
3) pretty much claimed it would not work in my car due to it being a German version.

total

I told that that was not true, but it was a useless effort.
I think I will be taking the car to another dealer for service.

Sweet! This was on an E90 or 92, right? Anyone else done this (esp. in the US)?

EDIT: I mean for red light cameras, not speed cameras.

I work for a Dutch company, and as such have a Dutch Lease car. Due to the contract that my company negotiated with the lease company, I could only buy at BMW Amsterdam.

But for service, I should be able to go to any dealer.

I already had issues before the delivery, the sales rep that I originally put the purchase order in with left the dealer to start his own company, and I ended up being bounced around between 2 other sales reps that NEVER returned any calls.
I was still going to buy some accessories, but already decided to get those somewhere else.

In any case, this is the dealer: http://www.bmw-amsterdam.nl/

I have an E91 (Touring), but it is the same for the E87, E90, E91, E92, E93, E60, E61 and possibly others.

For loading, find a list of 'poi', preferably in ASC/ViaMichelin format, or if you cannot get it in the right format, download poiedit to convert it.
Alternatively you can create your own POI file with poiedit.
