Got the update for autolocking doors.

Had my dealership (Beverly Hills BMW) update my vehicle to have autolocking doors, which gave me DRLs (Daytime Running Lights). I don't like DRLs, but I can live with them.

Really surprised by the stealership. Unlike my experience with Pacific BMW (BASTARDS!), my uppity and so-you'd-think, snobbish, Beverly Hills service department experience was great. Carmella the SA was very accomodating.

Thing is, reading the work order is always like decoding something.

What does "Perform CBS Correction" mean?" Is Dave Letterman now in my car?

Thats the Condition Based Service System. It dictates when you are to receive/perform maintenance on the car based on mileage and for example the quality of your oil or condition of your brakes. A CBS reset is done when you have an oil change so that it's back to 15-18k miles before the next one, don't know what a CBS correction exactly means though.

Is the mileage remaining (until oil change) in your instrument cluster when starting the car the same as before you brought it in? Might be that the update reset these figures so they had to set it back to where they were.

Thanks GregL. It's weird, The oil date still says 10000 8/2007. Same as when I brought in the vehicle, And I'm at 9200+ miles right now.

2 questions:
1. By autolocking doors, what do you mean? As part of Comfort Access, or an alarm system or what? Is it a selectable i-drive option?
2. I already have DRLs... I thought this wasn't something new... unless you meant your angel eyes are now your DRLs? That'd be cool to me on the sedan cos it's only on the coupe currently.

Ok so that was more like 4 questions

I have had the same experience. Was quoted $900 to install the ipod interface by Pacific. Can anyone say "STEALERSHIP"! Beverly Hills was much less. It really pays to shop around! And yes, I also got the DRLs with the Progman 23 update. Which I HATE!
