3.63 Differential for E90/1/2/3 (not 335)
3.63 Differential - $600 Shipped Open differential purchased new directly from BMW. Has 16K miles on it, like new (open diffs really dont wear out) Had input shaft modified to fit 325. Should fit E90/1/2 325/328/330 manual transmission cars. (your shop may have to swap input flanges with your stock diff) Gives the car some great pull in all gears, and makes 6th gear more useful. I really need to get this thing out of the way.. its a great deal! |

This is really a great deal guys. Of all the mods I have done, this one seems to have made the biggest difference in acceleration.

Again KS, thanks for the bump. Differential swaps are very popular on the E36 and E46, just something that hasnt caught on in the E90 (because there are so few used diffs available perhaps) |

BUMP.
How much of a pain of install is this (i.e. how much did it cost you)? This sounds like a very interesting mod for a manual tranny 325i or 330i. Other than the faster acceleration advantage, are there any advantages with staying with an open diff as opposed to upgrading a 325i or 330i to a limited slip diff setup? Sorry for the newb questions. |

FWIW, this mod on my E46 made more of a difference than an intake, exhaust, pulleys combined.
They called this the poor man's supercharger on E46fanatics haha

Sounds like it...I'm very tempted...just want to know what the total price for a install would be...any ideas how long it would take?

Install should be about 3-4 hours labor (perhaps less) Whatever your local shops labor rate is will determine your total cost.
(sorry for the delay, went out-of-town and forgot my laptop charger) |

I have also heard about great acceleration with the open differential, but it also eats more gas right?
