Quick question about struts/ shocks

My service advisor recommended replacing my struts and shocks. I decided that whenever I needed to refresh my suspension I'd just use that as an opportunity to get coilovers. Are struts part of coilovers or would I still need to get struts?

Nothing personal meant by this but...

Why would you decide on something when you don't even know what it is?

Struts and shocks are the gas-filled tubes that work with the springs in your suspension.

Coilovers is a term typically used to refer to a complete kit of shocks/struts/springs at minimum, and sometimes they also have extras (end links, top mounts, bump stops, etc).

Some coilovers can have adjustable height and/or dampening as well.

The answer is no. "Coilovers" replace the the strut(front) and spring/shock(rear) that you currently have.
