Reseting ESS Direct Flash?

I know once you connect the ESS Direst Flash device to your car. The VIN # and software version will be tied to the device. Therefore you can't use it on another car. I think it's possible to reset the device to OEM state. I could be wrong.

I'm just curious. Of course I'm not going to open an ecu flashing shop.
