Maybe I'm alone in this but.

With 19 inch wheels and 30 series tires my rolling diameter isn't far off the stock rolling diameter with 17 inch wheels and 45 series tires.... With the KW Variant 1's installed the rear end sits very low at the highest perch height and I don't see any way that someone could use them in the winter effectively. There is little to no gap and around here in Maine would just destroy the inner fenders in any actually accumulation. I will be parking mine for the winter but wanted to give anyone in the market for suspension a heads up. I don't see KW V1 being the best choice if you just planned on picking it up on those coil overs for the winter.

Maybe I'm alone here but if so lemme know cause I think my install was correct.

can you take pictures of the car? How low is it in the front vs the rears?

I was concerned about this too when I saw some pictures with the rear supposedly all the way up and it still looked tucked. Could anyone with V1s maybe take a ground clearance measurement front and rear with it all the way up or at least what they have it at now. Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I've had mine on for the past 3 winters and no damage or issues to the car. A couple of them started leaking so I'm sending them in for repair, but that has nothing to do with the snow, just crappy V1 product.

I had that happen with a set of coilovers on a different car in the past, the easy solution is to call them and ask for a set of springs that is the same rate, but 1" longer. That would raise the car up, you guessed it, 1". I've never dealt with KW, but I suspect with photos of the ride height and the perch location, they'd be willing to help you figure it out.

Here is a pic from about a month ago with the rear set as high as possible. I suppose you could driver through the winter that way, but with the ice build up and sand etc I wouldn't. This is with rear as high as possible and front as low as possible.

I feel like most people won't run a 19" rim as a winter setup, I know I wouldn't. I go back to the stock 17's for winter.

I've ran 18's in Minneapolis winters for the last 3 or 4 years on K1's without any issues.

These are my summer 19's in the rear, but my 18's are the same overall diameter and have the same wheel gap.



Here's my winter setup. It's not a great angle and the offset is pretty high so it looks more tucked in the rear than it actually is.



I know I've posted my ride height on here somewhere, but I can't seem to find where it is....

Ya I guess the gap would make through the winter. the 17's with higher sidewall tires are only a pinch smaller than the 19's with hardly any sidewall..so the gap is close to the same regardless. Just seems so tight to me for ice build up etc. I'm new to lowered cars though so call me a noob I guess. Ill park mine from Jan-March. Sorry if I mislead anyone. KW V1 are amazing, wasn't knocking them.

You'll be fine. I'm much lower on the same coils and drove through 4-5 inches of snow a few times this year.

My front lip was plowing the snow like crazy it was quite the sight lol.
