The original film is a true stand out example of it's genre and of it's time. Certainly in my top 20 all time films. There are a number of good ways that this new film could play out. Unfortunately, a number of poor ways too. Here is hoping, that they chose one of the former ways.

In truth, I wish that film directors and producers would have the decency to leave perfection as it is. Blade Runner had such a superb, open end that should have remained open. Sometimes it is better to leave it to one's imagination. It was beautifully crafted: I have discussed with friends over the years and more recently, my children, what might have happened to Deckard and Rachael. Also, the humanity of the origami addicted officer, who let them pass into the night.

Oh well ... I guess it's the lure of the money.

I cannot see Ryan Gosling playing the truly bad guy in the end. My guess is that there will be a replication of the original's ending in some format, with Gosling's character "turning a blind eye", to the remit of his duty.

Yet another classic film being rehashed for no reason but using the title. ie.Total Recall, Psycho, Shining, etc. I guess there are zero new ideas left to put on celluloid.
Blade Runner is a master work that should stand on it's own for all time.

I disagree. Blade Runner's ending left the door open for a continuation of the story, not really a re-make or "re-hash". I'm super excited. Gosling is an awesome actor and Ridley Scott will not let us down or tarnish the legacy of the original IMO. I guess by the trailer teaser we can now assume Decker is not a replicant and is human after all since he has aged...?

K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

So that's who's Rey's parents
