Yes. I use 0-40 Mobil 1 though.

the only mobile 1 i know of that is approved is the 0w-40 european formula. it has to say "bmw LL-01" on the back.

If not the BMW LL-01 spec (preferred) then the oil must have at least ACEA A3 spec, to ensure that it will meet the temperature performance criteria of a BMW turbocharged engine, as well as the long oil chage interval that the CBS specifies. if you are within warranty, you must use oil that meets LL-01, or you can be denied coverage for a lubricant related repair.

i already put the mobil 1 5w-30 on my car and i'm scared it will create problems for my car. what should i do?

And avoid high speed runs. The 5w-30 does not have a ht/hs over 3.5cp.

shouldn't need to replace the filter when you switch back if you only have a few thousand on it, then again for a few bucks you get the peace of mind.
