Clutch fluid flush

Hi All,

Tried to do a clutch and brake fluid flush today with my Motive Power bleeder. I firstly tried to do the clutch however no fluid came out. These are the steps I took:

1. Empty master cylinder as much as i can with turkey baster.
2. Fill right to top with new brake fluid
3. Fill Power bleeder
4. Connect power bleeder to master cylinder and pump to 15 psi
5. Connect clear tube to slave cylinder nipple and open
6. No fluid came out

I eventually just manually pumped the clutch pedal by hand and fluid came out. However with the brakes the power bleeder worked fine. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong for the clutch?

You probably removed too much old fluid. Filling the clutch portion of the reservoir can be tricky even with a pressure bleeder.

After removing old fluid I filled the reservoir all the way to the top so i would imagine the clutch portion is filled.

I've done the bleed twice but using a workshop bleeder at 28-30psi. Once without the tool to compress and relax the slave piston and once with the BMW tool. This is the solo method.

I do believe a conventional two person bleed should achieve an equivalent result but you just have to make sure the fluid actually fills the baffled section. Use a torch to make sure the entire reservoir is filled.
