Below is a torrent for the 2022 BMW North America Premium USB map files. This will only work with CIC Premium. If you're looking for a previous version click here for the 2021 Premium map.

README: Changes for 2022

qBittorrent is the recommended torrenting program. Issues have been reported with others.
This will not fit on a 32GB flash drive. You must use a 64GB flash drive or larger.
An external tool is required to convert a > 32GB flash drive to FAT32 on Windows.
Free tool to do this: Aomei Partition Assistant. Select "Standard Edition."
I can no longer host map files on Mega. If anyone would like to host a direct download please post here and I will add it to this post.

Requirements

Torrenting program, such as utorrent if using Magnet Link
64GB or larger Flash Drive formatted as FAT32
FSC Code (See the ConnectedDrive / I-Drive forum for details on how to get one. I cannot help you get one.)

Update Steps

Download file with a torrent program
Unzip contents.
Copy pkgdb and config.nfm to the USB drive.
Turn your car on and wait 30 seconds after the nav system fully boots up.
Plug USB drive into the glovebox USB port of your car - the center console USB port will not work.
iDrive will eventually ask if you want to update your map. Click Yes.
Enter FSC code, if needed.
You can drive your car normally during the update. The update will continue where it left off last when you turn your car back on.

Thanks! This file worked perfectly for my 2012 E92 CIC. I have the lifetime FSC code so no need to enter the code this time. I will seed for the next week or so at least.

Anyone not able to use the magnet link? My Rutorrent isn't working with it.

Nvm: Rutorrent doesn't like that many announce trackers in one.

I'll seed as long as I can with my 10Gbit connnection.

Is your torrent application setup correctly to be fully connectable? Are you able to get the Torrent Metadata from the magnet link or are you stuck without that?

Things I would check:

-Port forwarding on your router for your computer for UDP/TCP
-Check if the trackers are connecting

derbo All other torrents work perfectly and forwarding all set up correctly... this one seems to be stuck at grabbing the metadata... tried a couple different clients across different systems, and they're all the same.

Edit: Just to add - it's connected to trackers, but keeps re-trying to download metadata.

I attached a .torrent file to the main post in case there are issues with the magnet link. Give that one a try and see if it works. I see some people downloading right now.

Remove ".pdf" from the file extension. Had to do that to get around the 400kb zip file max.

Right2Repair Thanks for uploading it... but it's thrown an error saying it's an invalid torrent file? This would definitely help if I could get it working.

For the magnet link, try reducing the amount of announce trackers too, rutorrent didn't like so many at once, so I deleted half of them and it finally worked. Been seeding for a day now and uploaded about 200GB so clearly someone is grabbing it!

I'm also having problems with this, was hoping to set this up to run today while I'm out. The magnet link works but it never finishes downloading metadata. the .torrent file doesn't work at all. I'm using transmission on Mint. I'm not savvy enough to know what I'm screwing up.

I have regenerated the torrent and magnet link with fewer trackers. Hopefully that will resolve the issues people are having.

still no good on my end.... neither the magnet link (constantly looking for metadata) or the torrent file (says it's also invalid) work for me.

It's like I'm cursed to live with 2021 maps haha.

Grabbed the magnet link in the first post and using qBittorent (for the Mac) was able to grab the file. Formatted a 256Gb USB stick as an MS-DOS (Fat) device (no limits on the size of the device within MacOS) and after unzipping and transferring over, plugged into my 2011 E93 and went for a long drive and Voila!

I'm still not able to finish downloading metadata... I just retried the magnet link fresh and it got to 94% and then started over at 0%

Edit: the new torrent file doesn't work either, it just won't open.

I had the same issue with Transmission.

I switched to qtorrent and that solved the problem.

now that you mention it, all the peers showing are using qBittorrent or (mu)torrent.

In other news, I just discovered that I can't use alt-codes with my Keychron keyboard. (they work fine with my GMMK which is at work)

Edit: I downloaded qBittorrent and it seems to be working now. Won't be done in time to get this loaded this weekend, but still. I am using my home music server to do this, so I'll leave it seeding for a couple weeks, it's a machine I rarely use for anything other than serving up music files to the various audio systems around the house. Don't know what the problem was with Transmission, but I've got 9.4% of the file downloaded now.
