And the N54 won 2012 Engine of the Year for 2.5L - 3.0L over the N55. Go figure.

Engine of the year has absolutely nothing to do with reliability since brand new engines win this award all the time and there is no way in knowing the reliability of a brand new engine. With that said, the N55 does have better emissions and is more economical than the N54. I guess the judges just favor the way the N54 kicks you in the pants

So, it's a wash in terms of performance. N55 is also a more fuel efficient engine due to the addition of Valvetronic and implementing a single twin-scroll turbocharger. The judges were misinformed http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews.../photo_01.html

So here is a question for you guys....
Went last year to dealer to complain about noise. It turns out it's waste gate/turbos, but they were not covered under the CPO. I said ok, can't afford to change it just yet. Last year i had 73K-74K miles on the car. Now i have 88K and still the noise. Do you guys think they will honor it? |

I would imagine that sending them a letter requesting a refund along with your official repair bill/diagnosis by qualified mechanic and a copy of the service bulletin should cause them to provide a refund for a previous repair. If you have the problem currently, you would think that a similar approach would lead them to cover this. The precedent has been set. |

If your 335is is one of the MYs indicated, I would assume so. Best to check w/ your SA.
