Retrofit power folding mirrors To 2007 M Sport

Ive just had power folding mirrors retrofitted to my 2007 m sport.
its taken a day and a half to have the wiring system rewired between the switch, footwell module, windows and mirrors.

The mirrors fold off the button and better still they are lci to go with the rest of the mods ive just had done and a bonus is they dip when put in reverse.

The indy who did this did it as a bet as nobody had done a retrofit on this age and spec of car but luckily for him the bet paid off.

I will post pics up and anymore info i can when i get my car back.

I have picked my car up and i am over the moon this has worked.
The passenger mirror dips when in reverse and the feature can be turned off by flicking mirror selector switch to passenger side and get this when i drove off the mirrors automatically folded back out on their own.

The spec of my car is no electric seats or auto headlights or anything fancy just a M sport with little extras..

the mirrors i have installed are m sport lci which i wanted to finish my conversion and as to the cost myself and the indy had this as a bet, basically he used my car as a gineau pig.

The mirrors cost me £160 with postage, the switch £20 and the wager which i cant disclose.

The link as promised to the indy i would put on here is

I heard that BMW stopped them folding automatically to reduce warranty claims due to wear and tear. Expect its just a coding thing though.

I've not got folding mirrors and miss them. My old Leon had them as standard!

Electric mirrors are brilliant, I use tham all the time on mine. Just get into the habit of pressing the button everytime I get out the car.

Question: I ordered the option "Elec Fold Exterior Mirrors" (313) which came with the dipping mirror on the passenger side when going into reverse.
So does anyone know what the option "Ext. mirrors - folding, auto dimming" (430) is?

I find BMW explanation of what the options are in the brochure and on the website is a bit poor at times and the dealerships dont know half the time either.

Auto dimming is just that, they dim at night using the special glass and also if headlight shine into them like the interior mirror.
I had this on my lexus and not a bad touch but sometime they were too dim at night.

You can still get them coded to fold when you lock the car. My ones were programmed by my local indy for £30. You basically have to do a long press of the lock button to fold them. Unlocking the car without a long press unfolds them, as well as unlocking the car - nice .

Power folding mirrors.. I think you can pop your exisiting colour cap and use it on the newone if your buying exactly the same mirrors.

You will need the switch and wires and coding.

Can you tell me where you got the mirrors for £160? I had one broken off by vandals and BMW want £270 just for the mechanism with no glass or capping!

Has your current wiring got 3 pins & you have electric / memory seats.... if so you won't need any new wiring!

I am not sure i would on purpose go from pre LCI to LCI mirrors. The giant elephant ear post LCI mirror is the least favourite thing about my car really!

I have heated and power fold though which is why I haven't gone back to pre LCI mirrors! I wouldn't want to lose those features!

Fair play to the Indy for getting it done though! Bet it wasn't easy...
