E90 rear deck spoiler: Standard OEM or M3?
UPDATE #2: See posted pics (post #35).
UPDATE: Thanks for everyone's input, as well as the great pics. I've decided on the M3 spoiler. A dealership is replacing the rear deck spoiler on my TiAg E90 (sedan) 335 because of bad paint match and fit (among other things ). I have to decide between another OEM, painted rear deck spoiler, or the M3 sedan rear spoiler. Since I have seen so few of the M3 sedans, I thought I'd ask what you guys would do. No pics of my car because it's already at the shop, but it's TiAg, with tint, a drop, 19" M6 wheels, black grill and window trim, and full M Aero body kit. I thought about the CF spoiler, but it appears so large in the catalog. And besides wheel caps and emblems, I don't have any other CF parts on the car. I need to let the dealership know in the morning, so, what do you think? Last edited by cbad335; 06-24-2008 at 09:30 PM.. Reason: Update |

My OEM style spoiler was attached w/ betalink as well, about a month ago. I hope the body shop can remove it cleanly. Considering everything else they've botched thus far, I may be opening a whole other can of worms.

I personally prefer the standard spoiler to the M3 one. The M3 spoiler looks tacked-on to me, whereas the standard one looks better integrated to the car's lines. I don't think I'd bother getting a spoiler at all anyway, but if I were getting one, it would be the standard spoiler.

The M3 spoiler is smaller and more subtle. The OEM one is bulkier and stands out more. It really depends on your personality. I choose M3 because I think the OEM one looks kind of awkward because it looks like it's hanging on the slanted edge of the trunk.

Look is a matter of preference! I hope you will like what you pick. If you not going to go with the M3 then there are much better options then OEM. THe OEM spoiler is FUGLY in my opinion. Here are a couple of pix of the M3 spoiler on my e90.

Thanks for the pix. The M3 spoiler is growing on me, especially since I've already had the other. I like how it leaves the line on the edge of the trunk.
