Exhaust tip

Would you prefer the thin wall (Akrapovic style) or the thicker one (M performance style)?

May I ask what is the inlet diameter on the stock exhaust?
Thinking to get one of these and weld it on the muffler to replace the 3" stock tip.

I like the thicker M tips.

Whats the pipe diameter of the two, not including the carbon parts?

The Akrapovic one is 4"
M style is 3.5"
It seems that they are bolt on and not require any welding, am I correct?

I don't think they are genuine product.
Selling at $250ish as a pair.

But I am thinking to get PE mod with one of these tips. Stock tips are too small IMO.

Looks like they have the exhaust clamps on both so no welding needed

Get the 4 inch tips then, 4 inch is the perfect size.

$250 no way they are genuine.

What's the source? I like them

Spoke to the seller and seems that 4" is the whole diameter including the CF sleeves.
The tips are made of 304 stainless steel as the seller claimed.
I have pm you the details.

Doesn't look too shabby at all! If I didn't have genuine silver ones already I would've jumped all over the M carbon replica copies, very reasonable pricing considering the real deal is still well over $600aud+ for a pair

Between the two, in my opinion the thicker style looks better on the back of the car. It adds a bit volume and esthetics.

But, keeping them clean can be a pain. I have thicker (double wall) tips that I got from Cyba (member on here that sells range of tips). Keeping that inner area clean and shiny is useless, as it get dirty within a few days.

I gave up on cleaning the inside area.

Wow, do you mind sharing a bit more photos?
Is it the 3.5" one?
Really interested in how it looks from the rear and the side.

It's 4". More pics as requested. Custom stainless steel exhaust done from mid pipe to muffler so tips are wielded on.

They look nice but are they 4"?
The seller told me that M style ones are only 3.5"

Hmm....I start wanting the Akrapovic one, the M logo cutout seems a bit odd from the photo. Or maybe just from that angle.

Oh, the one that I found is 17.5cm in length.
May I ask where did you find yours?

And the ones on you car don't seem reaching the top of the diffuser hole like below?
Not sure how to describe it but what I want to achieve is something like below, see the tips reaching the top of the diffuser hole.

Got mine off AliExpress rather than paying $400 per tip from BMW. Think it's the way the diffuser is cos mine is a 320d the cut out won't be as close as the 335i diffuser. It's evident on the stock one as well as shown below.

Would adding twin-tips to a 335i (with non M sport rear end), require cutting into the bottom fairing?

And....I guess changing the tips doesn't change the sound at all, right?
