Would any of you guys be interested in a private autox in Fairfax, VA?

I'm currently trying to work out a lot rental with the Kena Shrine, if you guys have heard of them. It's basically the twice the length of the Harry Grove lot, but only half as wide.

Nothing is final yet, but I'm trying to gauge how many participants there would be.

Here's a general mockup:

Any advice/tips on the course layout, etc. would be MUCH appreciated.

it looks to be a very confusing layout. unless you spend a considerable amount of time walking the course and having a bunch of volunteers to work the cones, i'd make a few more straight aways.

the facility looks like a great spot for autox, just re-work the course, and it'll be gold

I'd be interested, assuming the dates for the event work out.

What's wrong with the course? Looks good to me. Besides it's an autocross not autostraight line.

Pencil me in for this.

How much to play, Shim? How many people will be involved? I'd be interested as well

Wait, will they allow regular sized cars on that Shriners' parking lot?

It's about 300x120ft or so.

The lot has no poles or anything. Ignore that course layout, it was just an example. Although, the finish is about 150 feet before the start line. Also, the pre grid would wait in that enclave away from the line of the finish line, in case something went horribly wrong, accelerator instead of brakes and WOT all the way.

We might run this thing through an organization as well, most of it is up in the air at this point.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys. I will look into the insurance thing, along with waivers.

I'm capping the entrants to 20-30 guys at most. Price will probably be $20-$30 for 12-18 minutes of runs for each person plus an untimed run for the last hour.

So, far the guy is willing to put this idea through to the local committee, it would be another month before I can lock in any kind of date...if it clears.

I would like building a list of interested folks ahead of time.

Autox is ultra grassroots of motorsports, so yes. Bunch of seasoned guys will be there, so they can sit with you and teach you the basics. Add your name to the list.
